ACT NOW: GET 3 MONTHS OF DAWG POST & 2025 PREVIEW FOR $15 | OFFER IS LIMITED TIME

ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs have once again gone international.

After signing German native J.J Henne in the 2025 class, Kirby Smart and the Dawgs land a commitment today from Sweden native Valdin Sone‍.

A promising interior defensive tackle who played in Virginia last season, Sone is a raw but powerful lineman who plays hard with untapped potential.

Sone is one of many recruits who have come through the PPI program under Brandon Collier over the years. PPI is the #1 recruiting database/placement program for International American Football Players.

Sone earned an offer from Georgia in May of 2024 and saw offers come his way after that from Florida, Auburn, Oklahoma, Alabama, Penn State, Ohio State, among others. The Bulldogs stayed in contact ever since and built a great relationship with the massive nose guard over the last 14 months.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Georgia Bulldogs have -164 odds to win 10 regular season games in 2025

Here’s what Collier had to say about Sone...

“Being 6’4 320-pounds and able to move like he moves is very rare,” Collier told Dawg Post. “His natural power is what separates him on the field. His aura is different. He has a smile that lights up a room and is just the nicest person. However, he does that other side where he gets on the field or in any competition he’s not nice!! He wants to beat you bad.”

“In my opinion he’s the best prospect in the class at DT because he still hasn’t tapped even close to his potential. Just wait until he’s really coached up. I truly believe he’s a future top 10 pick in the NFL draft.”

What will Sone bring to Athens?

Size, power and potential.

This is a young man who moves really well for his size and holds 320-pounds easily. On film, he shows explosiveness off the snap and plays with good pad level, powering his way through offensive linemen with ease. He shows a good motor and plays hard until the whistle is blown.

This is not a young man who is going to get pushed backwards. He fired off the ball and uses his natural strength to shed blocks hold the point of attack in the run game.

The potential is easy to see. This is a kid with plenty of size who has his best football years ahead of him. He earned his Bulldog offer over a year ago, winning over assistant coach Tray Scott early on. The second he gets to Athens Sone will immediately start becoming a better player. He may not be ready to play day one, but if he continues to work hard and develop over time, there’s no reason why Sone could not be a possible multi-year starter on the interior down the road.

Sone is ranked as the No. 15 DL prospect and the No. 130 overall prospect in the 2026 class.
