Of those four, Breaking Bad.

While all those are great, it's none of the above.

The answer is one that first aired before those, and is still on the air--The Simpsons

Todd Gurley agrees:

Of that list I'd say The Sopranos for me. Of all time though? It would have to be The Andy Griffith Show for sure.

Surprised Cheers isn't on that list

Seinfeld is the best sitcom ever. Can't lump it in the same category as the other 3. A sitcom vs 3 OC shows... It's like asking what the best movie is between Goodfellas, Godfather, Usual Suspects and Young Frankenstein... You cannot compare the 3 to the other

Sopranos is the best of those 3 though. HBO is what it is today because of Sopranos.

All these polls are totally subjective, but there is some consensus, to some degree, as to which are among the best written and dramatized.

From your list....from an artistical and critical analysis, it's "The Sopranos", hands down ("The Twilight Zone" and "Mad Men" are two others that are considered by many here in Hollywood as the best of all time, along with "The Sopranos").

From a comedic drama and writing viewpoint, Seinfeld (the best in history -- again, by subjective consensus by the people I know out here -- are "I Love Lucy" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show").

Fwiw, last year I watched 'Breaking Bad' and 'The Wire' for the first time. IMO, 'Breaking Bad' episodes were more consistently intense than 'The Wire' , however the latter had more likeable characters ('Breaking Bad': Jesse, Gomez, Saul, Mike; Gus; 'The Wire': Bunk, Cedric, Kima, Carver, Bubbles, Omar, Stringer, Bunny, Proposition Joe). 'Seinfeld' was funny (e.g., 'The Soup Nazi' episode), but I found the character Newman (played by Wayne Knight, a UGA Alumnus) annoying. As for 'The Sopranos', I've only seen the first 12 (of 86) episodes, so my rating is "TBD". Fwiw, I didn't find 'The Sopranos' particularly compelling until episode 11, thus a slow starter for me (I actually stopped watching it on episode 7, before picking it back up several months later).

P.S. I've enjoyed watching 'Breaking Bad''s prequel, 'Better Call Saul'.

P.S.S. I've never seen 'Game of Thrones' (I don't have an HBO subscription), but may binge watch the series once it's over.

I am not a cool TV watcher. I watched none of those other than Seinfield, and preferred Friends over Seinfield for my 30 minutes on Thursday night.

It is a downright shame about Cosby, but that was my favorite show of all time. It was Different Strokes before that....also really liked Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - Carlton and Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff cracked me up.

Now my favorite show is Suits (although not as good without the #2nd main character). Harvey Spector is one of the best TV characters of all time, and Lewis Litt character is hilariously awesome as well.

Indulgent show is SEALS. A friend knows DB, worked with him a lot, and she is just one of several who say not nice things about him...some of the stories...I refused to watch most of his shows, but this one is good. Even my wife enjoys it.

Still think Deadwood was the best TV created.

The thing that set Seinfeld apart as a sitcom was the technique of taking 2-3 seemingly disjointed stories and weaving them together at the end (eg kramer hitting golf balls into the ocean to plug a whales blowhole to be saved by fake marine biologist George). While I did think Seinfeld was funny regardless, I'd have to tip the cap versus other sitcoms for that.

But Cheers, Friends, Mary Tyler Moore Show, All In the Family, Cosby Show, MASH all deserve consideration for sure.

My favorite single sitcom episode of all time came from much less popular WKRP in Cincinnati, when the head of sales accidentally spray painted his daughters frog pink. Several episodes of that show were special, even though the series only lasted about 4-5 seasons.

Arrested development is unreal.

That's not my top four to be clear. I was just ranking those four. Mad men can't be left out. It is a classic.

After all my buddies and I graduated, we Had SOA parties every Tuesday...was a lot of fun. That was a great show. Never understood why they had to go and make "The Mayans" spin-off
