Wrong. You don't get as many reps when the starter is 3rd in the country in passing efficiency.BIGKNINE1 said:

Bottom line is this-
Fields committed to UGA fully believing as he should, that he would beat out Fromm. He was given opportunity and couldn't do it. The coaching staff/Kirby did NOT handle the situation properly if you ask me-inserting him only to hand off for the most part, was just wasting his time and also taking snaps away from Fromm that could have meant the difference between us beating Bama and not. If Fields wants to transfer, good luck to him and we will hit the trail for a stud in the 2020 class, and hopefully add at least one of the two QB's we are recruiting for this year. Fromm may or may not be back for his SR year, Fields could battle him next year, get more snaps and be ready to play in 2020, which is when he will be able to play if he transfers. I have heard however, his family is exploring trying to apply for a hardship to allow him to play right away-based on the racial slur at the football game. IF the NCAA allows this, it opens the door for kids to get a hardship for most anything. UGA dealt with the IDIOT baseball player in a timely fashion, to try to use that to me should not hold water but it might.
Fromm played as well as ANY QB in the country after the LSU game, he made all the plays and completed 68% of his passes this season-behind only Tua and Murray. Fields when he played showed great potential but you could clearly see he needs a lot more reps to be ready to play and win.
Fromm completed 25 of 39 passes (64.1%) for 301 yards w/ 3 TDs and rushed 4x for -2 yards (sacked twice) vs. Alabama.Haney said:
Thing about it is, UGA didn't have as many blowouts as people think just looking at final scores. We struggled a LOT in the first half of games and then came out blowing doors in the second half. Folks just tend to look at the scoreboard and make assumptions.
Should we have played JF more, not sure. Should we have let him run the normal offense more-YES, I do believe so. That being said, Fromm was better and is better RIGHT NOW. Kids nowadays have ZERO patience, especially being rated so highly. Eason left because he got hurt and was never given the chance to come back to claim his job-and how could Kirby be faulted for that considering the run we were on when Eason got hurt. Fromm played decently up to LSU-then SUCKED in that game but was that all on him-I still blame Kirby and the stupid fake FG attempt, as well as abandoning the run way too early. After that game, Fromm played on the same level as Tua, Haskins, and Murray-maybe not the gaudy stats but the results were pretty special. He was 29-35 for 300 yards against Bama, that is saying something.
