ATHENS - With the 2026 class just about wrapped up for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, all eyes on the recruiting trail now look towards the 2027 class.
The Dawgs have six early commitments and have a chance to add another later this month.
Late last week the Bulldogs got good news from four-star linebacker Quinton Cypher who put Georgia in his final four along with Ohio State, Miami, and Alabama.
The 6-foot-3 215-pounder out of Millbrook High School in Charlotte, North Carolina took a visit to Ohio State in early November before taking a big visit to Athens to watch Georgia take down Texas. Now sources say it will be the Buckeyes and Bulldogs battling it out for one of the top linebackers across the 2027 class.

On tape, it’s clear why Glenn Schumann and the Dawgs are pushing hard for the out-of-state defender. He shows great instincts and a natural feel for the game. He has plenty of size, plays fast, and knows how to deliver a sound hit behind his pads. He consistently puts himself in a position to make a play and rarely missed a tackle last season. He wraps up properly, plays with physicality, and shows a true nose for the ball. He lived in the backfield all season long and was one of the more productive linebackers in North Carolina during the 2025 season.
Cypher is fresh off a dominant junior season where he made 139 Tackles, 39 TFLs, 3.5 Sacks, two INTs, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, four pass deflections, and one blocked punt while helping out on offense.
Cypher is ranked as the No. 9 LB prospect and the No. 167 overall prospect in the country.
