ATHENS - With Georgia’s 2026 class just about wrapped up, it’s time to take a look at where things stand for Kirby Smart and the Dawgs moving forward.
The Bulldogs are already off to a strong start in the 2027 class and today we’re breaking down their early commitments.
4-star CB Donte Wright - (Long Beach Poly, CA)
One of the nation’s top DB prospects in the 2027 class, Wright is an athletic 6-foot-0 170-pound defender who committed to Georgia early in the process back in June. He’s technically sound in coverage with impressive quickness and closing speed, but also brings a level of physicality that Kirby Smart looks for in his defensive backs. He shows great instincts, plays fast, and knows how to deliver a big hit on the ball-carrier. He helped on special teams and offense this fall but consistently shined in the secondary where he made 25 tackles, two sacks, and seven pass-breakups in seven games,
Wright is ranked as the No. 5 CB prospect and the No. 37 overall prospect in the country.
4-star OL Kelsey Adams - (Langston Hughes, GA)
One of the top overall prospects in Georgia, Adams is one of the highest-ranked offensive line prospects in the South and is fresh off a dominant junior season for Langston Hughes. The Atlanta native stands at 6-foot-5 260-pounds and should continue to put on more weight and muscle mass over the next several years.
He’s extremely mobile, can play out in space, and moves really well for someone his size. He plays hard, he’s a good athlete, and has the ability to bury defenders at the second level. He was a consistent pass-protector at left tackle all season long who still has his best football way ahead of him.
Adams is ranked as the No. 7 OT prospect and the No. 51 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!
According to FanDuel, the Buffalo Bills have +850 odds of winning the Super Bowl this winter.
3-star OL Kyson Mallard - (Westover, GA)
Another tough, physical in-state lineman who jumped on the commit list early in the process, Mallard is an Albany native with a compact 6-foot-5 310-pound frame. He moves well, he’s dependable when pulling in the run game, and does a greta job of blocking until the whistle is blown. He was a pancake machine at left tackle who will likely slide inside when he gets to Georgia. He’s ranking won’t impress many Georgia fans, but his tape certainly will. He’s a mauler in the run game who should only improve more and more over time.
Mallard is ranked as the No. 32 interior OL prospect and the No. 437 overall prospect in the country.
3-star WR Gavin Honore - (Mater Dei, CA)
One of the fastest 2027 wide receivers on the West Coast, Honore was a dependable last season for one of the top high school football teams in the country. He’s a natural pass-catcher with dependable hands who can be tough to corral after the catch. He’s elusive, shows impressive burst, and knows how to pick up yards after the catch. He didn’t light up the stat sheet, catching just 23 passes for 368 yards and two touchdown, but his talent is easy to see.
The 5-foot-10 180-pounder is ranked as the No. 68 WR prospect in the 2027 class.
3-star RB Jakeyveon Parker - (Macon County, GA)
A Middle Georgia running back with plenty of size and power at 5-foot-10 200-pounds, Parker brings above-average speed for his size and showed that he’s capable of scoring from anywhere on the field. He runs hard between the trenches and can be tough to bring down from behind. He runs hard behind his pads and is one of the state’s best at picking up yards after first contact. He was one of the most productive backs across the state last fall as a junior, rushing for an impressive 1,303 yards and 19 touchdowns. He hit the 100-yard mark eight times and ran for a touchdown in every game but three.
Parker is ranked as the No. 47 RB prospect in the 2027 class.
3-star WR Aden Starling - (Shadow Creek, TX)
Georgia’s most recent commitment, Starling is one of the fastest receivers in the Houston area who can make plays both the screen game and vertically down the field. He’s an above average route-runner who can snatch the ball out of the air and test defensive backs down the field. He brings a promising 6-foot-1 180-pound frame and is coming off a respectable junior season where he caught 31 passes for 405 yards and seven touchdowns.
Starling is ranked as the No. 84 WR prospect in the 2027 class.
