ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA Football got massive news Wednesday from one of the team’s top defenders.
Starting linebacker Raylen Wilson announced in his Instagram page today that he will be returning for the 2026 season next fall.
The productive Georgia defender started 13 games this past season as a junior, making 74 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He appeared in all 14 games as a sophomore in 2024 and was an SEC All-Freshman Team selection in 2023.

According to FanDuel, Ole Miss Rebels running back Kewan Lacy has -220 odds to score a touchdown against Miami in the Fiesta Bowl.
A tough, durable defender who has played a lot of football, Wilson will be the veteran in Glenn Schumann’s room next year as starting linebacker CJ Allen announced this week that he’ll be entering the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Bulldogs have had elite linebacker play on a yearly basis and should have another outstanding group in 2026. Wilson will lead the way, but he won’t be the only linebacker bringing experience and productivity to next year’s defense.
As good as Wilson’s been over the last three years, look for him to be even better as a senior in 2026.
