ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs came up short once again in the Sugar Bowl.

With Georgia’s season ended, all eyes now turn to 2026. With the Dawgs losing their last two CFP games, it’s clear they need to immediately upgrade the roster and they need to do it through the transfer portal.

Here are a few players to keep a close eye on...

At wide receiver, Auburn transfer Cam Coleman is the big prize, but former Warner Robins and Georgia Tech pass-catcher Isaiah Canion is a name to know as well. The Middle Georgia native brings excellent size at 6-foot-4 215-pounds and hauled in 30 passes this season for the Yellow Jackets for 480 yards and four touchdowns.

Kansas State’s Jayce Brown is also in the portal and has serious interest in Georgia. The 6-foot-0 180-pound junior caught 41 passes last fall for 712 yards and five touchdowns. He’s expected to be in Athens “soon”.

Another receiver expected to be in Athens soon is Alabama transfer Jaylen Mbakwe. The former five-star athlete played defensive back in 2024 before switching to wide receiver for the 2025 season. As a reserve, Mbakwe didn’t make much of an impact, catching just three passes for 55 yards. Still, he’s an explosive athlete looking to start fresh somewhere else. Right now sources say Georgia, Ole Miss, and Georgia Tech are schools to keep an early eye on.

A defensive back to know in the transfer portal is USC Trojan transfer Braylon Conley. The Texas native spent his freshman season with the Trojans this fall and made 10 tackles with one forced fumble and one pass defended. The 6-foot-0 190-pounder was in Athens this weekend for a big visit and broke it down with Dawg Post

“We discussed the team and overall program. They have a great system and I can see why coach Smart has had so much success. They have a really great staff in the building. Coach Smart is a very genuine person and I love his approach to player development and his coaching style.”

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Miami Hurricanes are 3.5-point favorites over Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl.

On the offensive line, LSU signee Carius Curne is a young transfer to know about. The massive 6-foot-5 320-pounder was ranked as the No. 49 overall prospect in the 2026 class but was unable to make his visit to Athens this weekend.  Now, he plans to take visits to Ole Miss and Arkansas. If he can make it to Athens soon the Dawgs have a chance, but this second they appear to be on the outside looking in. Alabama right tackle Wilkin Formby is another name to know in the portal.

Back at wide receiver, sources say South Alabama freshman WR Jeremy Scott is another pass-catcher to keep an eye on. The 6-foot-3, 208-pounder caught 24 passes for 417 yards last season. Sources say he’s expected to visit Georgia, Syracuse, Ole Miss, Baylor and Houston.

Back on the offensive line, Valdosta, Georgia native and N.C State left tackle Jacarrius Peak entered the transfer portal on Monday night and could be someone the staff targets in this window. The big lineman is a multi-year starter for the Wolfpack and one of the best available offensive tackles in the portal.
