I hear Ohio St is the front runner...with Gaskins leaving it might seem like a good place for him...but 'not so fast my friend...' As I pointed out on another thread, the Suckeyes have 3 high ranked Scholly QBs in the QB room even after Haskins leaves and another one on the way. So, 3 highschool studs that have a year of the playbook ahead of him if he shows up a month from now. Eh...I don't think so.
Meanwhile, we have Fromm and 3 walk-ons.
Florida St is the other place I've read, however, Francois apparently is coming back for his senior year, Hockman is a freshman and tomorrow they will sign Sam Howell, the #3 pro-style QB in the nation out of NC.
Meanwhile, we have Fromm and 3 walk-ons.
The only other name I've heard throw around is Florida. But really? Ol Franks seems to have risen from the ashes like the freakun Pheonix this season and now is a bonafida starter. Emory Jones is behind him. What part of that looks appealing?
Meanwhile, we have Fromm and 3 walk-ons.
I just think it's a bad decision.....you go to another high profile program and have to start all over learning the playbook...not to mention that there will be competition there, just like here. His only hope is to find a big school that is graduating their starter and hope he can come in and take the job, but that's a LOT easier said than done.
If the kid is smart, he'll stay put. I hope Fromm is healthy and stays for 4 years, but Fields is one injury away from being the starter for good. Ask Eason how quick that can happen. And if Fromm leaves next year, he'll have the job for 2 solid years. And if the coaches are smart, they'll figure out how to use him better this season, so maybe they'll stop all of this non-sense about putting him in for 2 snaps and taking him out. My wife knew that was a bad strategy.
If he leaves I wish him luck, but it just seems like the most illogical thing to do...but I'm not as smart as most of you guys....my doctorate is in Theology, not Footballology, so....give me some thoughts on this DP experts...??????

If he is to transfer, there are two things that he needs to be sure of-first is he eligible to play immediately. IF so, he should be looking at the spot he feels for sure he is going to win the job which is the second thing he is looking at. Where do I feel 100% sure I WILL win the job. Of all the places I am reading, OSU and OU being the top 2, they definitely have a more crowded QB situation at least scholarship wise, than we do. FSU to me makes a lot of sense because I think he could beat out Francois but does he want to play behind that dreadful OL?? Penn State to me also makes sense because he originally committed there and they are losing a SR QB which means that job should be open, obviously he had a good relationship with James Franklin to commit to him in the first place. Also, what about Colorado, not sure who they have at QB but with Tucker and Jay Johnson going there, he would have some folks that know him well there.

I think the big thing is will he be eligible to play based on the racial tension theory being reported they could use? If the NCAA allows this, it opens up the floodgates for everyone to transfer and being eligible right away because how can you claim racial reasons when you had one fan at a game make a comment overheard by coeds and reported to the school-the player himself didn't hear the comments, only heard about it later. UGA took quick action against the idiot kid. The NCAA is trying to become more flexible, we had Robertson get his appeal approved-this due to family being in GA and him being California, we had the QB at Michigan get his approved, this due to Ole Miss being on probation, allowing him to be eligible immediately at Michigan. This one opens up a can of worms, as sure it was of racial nature but the kid himself didn't hear it, players could claim threats made to them at any time as reason to leave going forward, and EVERY fanbase has some idiot fans.

You bring up some pretty good points Haney....I haven't really thought about him getting murdered at FSU. But you'd think the kid would be licking his chops to play behind our OL next season. Man, whoever our QB is, they'll be able to step back, sit down in a lounge chair and have a sandwich with the time this monstrous group is gonna give them. But again, is he willing to wait his turn? I hadn't really though Penn St, but if this thing gets serious and it looks like he will transfer, I bet ol Franklin makes a call to him.
