For me it was WR Gerald "Boo" Mitchell from Lowndes County High School in Valdosta, GA. "Boo" went on to earn a scholarship at Vanderbilt, started for the Commodores for 4 years (caught 188 passes for 3,024 yds & 9 TDs), earned All-SEC honors his senior year in 1988, then logged a year on injured reserve (dislocated shoulder) w/ the Seattle Seahawks after playing in a couple of preseason games. To this day he remains #6 on the SEC's All-Time Receiving Yards list. After he completed his football playing days, he put his Electrical Engineering degree to work for 18 year before opening up a sports performance facility ('The Factory') in Lawrenceville and becoming a high school football coach (at Berkmar HS for 5 yrs, Peachtree Ridge for 4 yrs, Northview HS for 2 yrs, then back to Peachtree Ridge, and now w/ North Gwinnett HS). This past season he served as North Gwinnett High School's varsity WR Coach and the Bulldogs went on to win the GHSAA AAAAAAA State Championship defeating Colquitt County High School 19-17. He is also the Atlanta Havoc's Head Coach (an indoor professional football team based in Buford).
