ATHENS - It’s been 36 long years since Georgia Bulldog baseball has won a national championship.

They had a golden opportunity in 2008 but we don’t have to talk about that. Now, these 2026 Bulldogs are on a mission to bring a national championship back to Athens.

According to FanDuel the Bulldogs have a good shot at getting the job done. The SEC Champions have +300 odds to win this year’s national title with only North Carolina having better odds at +290.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Detroit Lions have +150 odds to win the NFC North next season.

This year’s championship is up for grabs, and the Dawgs, who can out-slug anyone left in the field, will have every opportunity to win it. Led by senior superstar Dan Jackson, the Dawgs have an offense that can crush any opposing pitcher in the game. Jackson has been one of the best players in college baseball this season, but the entire lineup has the ability to put up big runs in any particular inning.

Just ask Mississippi State.

After winning both games against State in the Athens Super Regionals, the Bulldogs will take on a tough Texas Longhorns team in the first round of this weekend’s tournament.

The ‘Horns will also get to Omaha playing some of their best baseball of the year. They took down Oregon in the Super Regionals and will bring a loaded lineup with them this weekend.

As good as Texas is, Wes Johnson has his Bulldogs playing as well as anyone. They’re crushing the ball, stepping up in big moments, and have had just enough pitching to get them to Omaha. They’re playing with confidence and aren’t happy with just getting back to Omaha.

This is a business trip. Getting to Omaha is great, but these Dawgs are there to win.

The Bulldogs will take on the Longhorns Saturday night at 8:00 PM.
