The state of Florida is in meltdown and I love it

FSU is a dumpster fire. If you look on the Miami forums all you are seeing is how 'UGA fans tried to warn us about Richt....' And of course, you're not hearing any talk from Gator fans about how they were the 'better team...' against us after that bullwhipping by a 4 loss Missou team.

The once proud state of Florida which boasted 3 of the most elite teams in college football has turned into a pile of goo. And I love it. I have to say I feel a bit sad for MR, but the truth is, he's a good guy, just not a good football coach. He can draw in an occasional good QB and RB to make things look interesting, but ignores the obvious; The big uglies on the DL and Ol is the reason Bama and UGA and Clemson are on top of the CFB mountain. We had 2 OLmen go down against UK, plugged in a couple of 330 lb true freshmen and kept trucking. MR just never got it.

And I don't feel sorry one bit about UF and Mullen. He started trash talking the minute he got on campus. Ain't it funny how you never hear Kirb or our players trash talk anyone, but we always seem to just...win?

Is FSU, Miami and UF just circling the drain? Meanwhile, UCF is on a 87 game winning streak or something. Can they turn things around? I see Notre Dame prison raping the Noles this weekend and ol Taggert probably will be shown the door. MR has about one more season before the Cane's fanbase finds out what we knew all alone. And Mullen?....I dunno...the jury is still out I guess. They were probably a bit hungover from getting drubbed by us, so maybe he deserves a Mulligan.

Thoughts?

The Gators obviously need to find a decent QB. The stats on Franks against Mizzou were horrible and they were 3 for 15 on 3rd down. They should be able to find a QB at some point.

I thought FSU would be decent this year. Their recruiting has been very good of late, but they aren't.

Miami is doing about what I expected under Richt, 8-9 wins, maybe 10, but losing games unaccountably. Miami is not a good spot for a coach like Richt.

Cincy...you think Emory Jones will end up starting at UF? He was ranked in the top 5 with Fields and Lawrence, but I don't think he's quite on the same level as either of them guys.

I don't know of course, but they need a QB obviously, so taking a risk with a young player is worth a shot in my book. I don't know if he plays this year, maybe he RS's and starts next year. This season is kind of "done", though better than last year.

FSU has no OL. They are beyond terrible. Fla has no QB, and has not had one in a while. Miami looks like a softer version of some of MR's mediocre teams at Ga.

Those three fanbases deserve everything they are getting. Miami fanbase is just nasty, if you have ever been around them you know what I am talking about. Fla's fanbase has an entitlement mentality, look down on every fanbase in the SEC and every time they have a few bad games they want to fire the coach, the same one that was not-miss when he was hired. Fla St is now as bad as they were before Bobby Bowden showed up and I think he came there in 1976 or so.

This can go on for a decade or so and then I will begin to have empathy for them.

Agreed about UF fans, there is such a large number of them that has lived during only the Spurrier and Meyer eras so they EXPECT to win all the time-when in reality before Spurrier, UF was not a very good program and it shows that you need to find a solid coach to win there-Muschamp, butter teeth and now Mullen to me are not in the same league as the two they had before, and so until they find a stud coach, they will not be better than just good. Miami has been pretty irrelevant since the early 90's, Richt was probably the best coach they could have hired at the time but he is a worn down Grandpa now and doesn't have the same fire he had when we hired him. FSU, as you mentioned, they were not very good before Bowden, then they did bring in Jimbo but he is wishy washy, I don't think Willie is the answer although I do think he will recruit the best of the big 3 in Florida. You will continue to see some very top talent leave that state each year while those three schools are down-good for us.

Yeah Haney, I was thinking the same thing. With all three programs struggling it really does help our recruiting, which at the moment doesn't even look like it needs much help, but this can only make an already good situation even better. Here's hoping to lots more misery and sorrow and hoping those 4 and 5 star kids decide to head north...just NE towards us and not NW towards Bama. lol

It seems that FSU has a big case of buyers remorse, the U has a mild case of buyers remorse, and the gayturds don't, yet. I don't see how Mullen is so highly regarded. He had some good years at Missy State but he also had some very bad years also. I know the recruiting ground isn't as fertile in Mississippi as it is in Florida but I can't believe that he is going to out recruit little Nicky and CKS. I also don't see that Dandy Dan is that great a coach. He had some great years with Pinocchio Meyer as OC but he also had tons of talent while he was there. He could have stayed at State and averaged 8-4 every year and stayed as long as he wanted, that ain't gonna cut it in Gainesville.

If CMR could get a decent QB in Miami it would help his fortunes immensely.

Taggart is dead man walking. He had 1 great season at USF and has parlayed it into 2 high paying gigs. He is in way over his head.

Recruiting in Fla for the big three is harder now than ever. With UCF, USF, big ten,ACC and SEC there is more competition for players than ever. Fla has a finite amount of players just like every other state.
