The UK game will get a lot of attention for obvious reasons, kinda like a late season matchup between the two in basketball with the league on the line (which rarely happens of course, in reverse).

Their defense appears to be very solid. Their offense tends to be more one dimensional, but it is the one dimension the Dawg D can struggle to contain. Their fans think they match up well, which probably is true.

They did contain the Mizzou offense very well obviously, somehow. That was a surprise to me. MIzzou really ran effectively on the Dawgs. On the other hand, Mizzou contained their offense and nearly won of course.

Fromm is going to need another clutch game I suspect making those 3rd down throws.

Here is my thought on the game, UK in conference games-

Scoring offense 20.3 a game, UGA 35.8 per game
Scoring defense 10.6 a game, UGA 20.6 per game

The ONE game UK has lost in conference is the ONE game they allowed 20 points. So the bottom line is for us to score and score early. That does two things, it takes the crowd out of the game and it also puts pressure on an offense that is not a high scoring offense. Our defense in the second half against UF did a much better job and I suspect against a team that is not as much a throwing team, that will help us defend what is a really strong RB in Snell. They have one WR in Bowden that is obviously their top WR threat, he has 43 catches on the season, the next WR on their list has 18 and that is the TE that caught the game winner at Missouri. The QB Wilson also will run the ball, second leading rusher.

Kirby and Mel are smart defensive minds but to me it is Baker on Bowden, have one LB assigned to Wilson, have JR Reed or LeConte watching for the TE but pretty much you have 7-8 guys committed to stopping the run, if Missouri can hold them to 385 yards, Vandy held them to 298, SCarolina held them to 327. UF gave up 454 to them, but A&M held them to 178. Point being, this SHOULD not be a team that gets big yardage and points against us if we are smart.

Defensively, if you look at them, you have to be impressed. 20 points is the most points scored on them all season. Central Michigan and A&M both reached 20. For us, LSU is the only game we have not scored over 30 and in fact, against SEC east teams, 36 is the fewest we have scored. Think about that, the team that Kentucky needed a miracle to win against, scoring 15 points, we got 43, the team Kentucky had to come back from down 7-0 to beat 14-7 at home-after a bye week, Vandy, we dropped 41 points on. If we can score a couple TD's early on, it really will be interesting to see how UK responds. It is clear how they play, run the ball, hold the ball, play solid defense and play low scoring games where they have a shot to win late. Since they beat SCarolina 24-10, their last 3 conference games they have scored 14-14-15 points.
