ATHENS - After landing two outstanding cornerback prospects over the last two weeks, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are hoping to land one or two more in the 2026 class.

One cornerback to keep a close eye on is four-star, C.J Hester‍.

A Florida native with a lengthy 6-foot-1 175-pound frame, Hester was in Athens over the weekend for a big official visit and recapped his trip with Dawg Post.

“My favorite part was getting to hang out with the players , go over my development, and getting to speak with Coach Smart. They told me that coming here is hard and it will help you get to where you want. Their plan for me was to be used as a big corner who will play in the boundary to be able to play the pass and run.”

According to FanDuel, superstar golfer Scottie Scheffler has +280 odds to win the Travelers Championship next week.

“What makes the Georgia staff great is the way they coach their players and the standard they hold everyone too,” Hester added. “Their defense in an NFL style which helps prepare their players for the NFL by being plug-in players.”

Sources say the Cocoa (FL) standout has been a long-time Florida lean and took his official visit to Gainesville the weekend of May 30th

On film, it’s easy to see why the Georgia staff is keeping tabs on him. Not only does he bring plenty of size, but he’s also fundamentally sound in his footwork and technique. He shows quick feet, strong ball-skills, and closes quickly on receivers with the ball in the air. He shows quick hips and above-average speed that allows him to run with faster receivers down the field. He’s a sound tackler against the run and was one of the top overall defenders in the Orlando area.

As a junior last season, Hester made 72 tackles and four INTs in coverage. He’s ranked as the No. 23 CB prospect and the No. 266 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class.
