ATHENS - The recruiting train continues to roll for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
This time they land a commitment from four-star cornerback Caden Harris who has flipped from Vanderbilt.
Harris was offered by Georgia back in June of 2024 and has always been high on the Dawgs. He committed to the ‘Dores back in late April, but after an official visit to Georgia the weekend of June 6th, the Bulldogs grabbed all the momentum for the playmaking athlete from Tennessee.
Now, the Haywood (TN) star is set to play for the Georgia Bulldogs.
“Everyone knows why its a top program,” Harris told Dawg Post. “Coach Smart has showcased that a lot and the people he has around him makes the place even better.”
What will Harris bring to Athens?
Natural athleticism, strong ball-skills, and a high ceiling at cornerback.
A lean defensive back at 6-foot-0 175-pounds, Harris is a three-way standout for his small-town school who can make plays all over the field. He’ll line up at cornerback when he gets to Athens, but he’s a playmaking receiver and return man for his Haywood team.
As a cornerback, Harris shows quick feet, fluid hips, and can run with any receiver in the area. The ball doesn’t come his way very often, but when it does, Harris knows how to make a play on it. He picked off just one pass last season as a junior but took it all the way back for a touchdown. He broke up seven other passes in coverage and made 30 tackles on the ball-carrier. He shows great football instincts, brings a level of toughness, and will thrive in the secondary once he’s able to focus on it 100%.
As a wide receiver, Harris caught 37 passes for 782 yards and 11 touchdowns, showing terrific ball skills and big-play ability when he has the ball. He was consistently one of the best players on the field and is one of the top overall prospects in Tennessee.
Harris is ranked as the No. 12 CB prospect and the No. 83 overall prospect in the country.
