ATHENS - It was certainly an eventful weekend for Tray Scott and the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Dawgs added a massive defensive line commitment on Friday with the addition of three-star nose guar Stephon Shivers‍, but then lost a commitment from 5-star Justus Terry‍, who flipped to Southern Cal during a visit over the weekend.

After singing an excellent group in the 2024 class, things are still looking promising for Scott and the Bulldogs.

They have their man in the middle, but who else is Scott pushing hard for in the 2025 class?

DL:

5-star Elijah Griffin‍ (Savannah Christian, GA) - No. 4 overall

One of the nation’s top defenders, Griffin is a game-changing lineman coming off a tremendous junior season where he made 97 tackles, 31 TFLs, and 17.5 sacks. This second, Dawg Post feels Georgia leads South Carolina, Southern Cal, Alabama, and Clemson, among others.

4-star Christian Garrett‍ (Prince Avenue Christian, GA) - No. 119 overall

At 6-foot-4 270-pounds, this nearby defensive tackle from Bogart holds a Georgia offer, and if Scott and the Dawgs push for a commitment, it’s hard to see Garrett turning down a chance to play in Athens. He’s coming off a strong junior season making 86 tackles, nine TFLs and five sacks while leading the Wolverines to a second-consecutive Single-A title. He’ll be in Athens for his official visit the weekend of June 7th.

4-star Kevin Wynn‍ (Greene County, GA) - No. 171 overall

A big, productive interior lineman who lived in the backfield last year, this small-town defender bullied opposing offensive line on a weekly basis, showing why he’s one of the top DL prospects across Georgia. He made 70 tackles and an incredible 30 TFLs last fall, and he’s a nearby lineman that Bulldog fans should keep a close eye on.

5-star Justus Terry‍ (Manchester, GA) - No. 8 overall

While he did just flip from Georgia to Southern Cal, you can’t completely rule out Georgia in the end. The Trojans have always been able to impress small-town prospects when they take a visit out West, but when it’s time to make a final decision, Terry could very well end up back committing to Kirby Smart and the Dawgs.

Other interior DL prospects to know include:

4-star Zion Williams‍ (Lufkin, TX)

4-star Kevin Oatis‍ (Hattiesburg, MS)

4-star Trajen Odom‍ (Weddington, NC)

3-star Charles House‍ (North Mecklenburg, NC)

EDGE:

4-star Isaiah Gibson‍ (Warner Robins, GA) - No. 34 overall

A new Southern Cal commitment, Gibson is a Middle Georgia defender who is coming off a really impressive junior season where he made 42 tackles,12 TFLs, 6 sacks, and 24 QB hurries for the mighty Demons. The 6-foot-4 240-pound pass-rusher is ranked as the No. 2 EDGE defender and the No. 8 prospect in the state. He’s committed to the Trojans, but expect Georgia to push for a flip down the road.

4-star Bryce Davis‍ (Grimsley, NC) - No. 62 overall

A force off the edge who can stop the run and attack the passer, Davis is someone sources say is towards the top of Georgia’s recruiting board at the position. The 6-foot-3 245-pounder was hurt last fall, but the Georgia staff is very high on his talent and future. Davis will be in Athens for an official visit the weekend of June 14th.

4-star Zion Grady‍ (Enterprise, AL) - No. 64 overall

An explosive pass-rusher and a former Alabama commitment, Grady has been on several trips to Athens over the last few months and will be back for an official visit the weekend of June 21st. This second, some sources believe the new Alabama staff has started to push the Crimson Tide back to the top, but most feel Auburn and Georgia are still very high on Grady’s list at the moment.

4-star Jared Smith‍ (Thompson, AL) - No. 47 overall

Another defender from Alabama who is very high on Georgia, Smith is a long prospect with a solid frame at 6-foot-6 235-pounds. He’s been high on Georgia’s board from the beginning of his recruitment, and sources say Georgia’s been high on his list for a long time now. He’ll be back in Athens for an official visit the weekend of June 7th.

Other EDGE defenders to know:

4-star Darren Ikinnagbon‍ (Hillside, NJ) - No. 118 overall

3-star Julius Holly‍ (Alpharetta, GA) - No. 388 overall
