ATHENS - The 2024 Georgia Bulldogs are creating an identity during spring practice, but Kirby Smart and his staff are always looking ahead to the future.

The Dawgs are off to a tremendous start in the 2025 class, but this week they extended offers to two of the very best across Georgia in the 2026 class.

One new offer went out to dynamic Peachtree Ridge (GA) defensive back, Dorian Barney‍. One of the state’s top 2026 prospects, Barney holds several impressive Power Five offers, but finally earned an offer from the Bulldogs after a visit to Athens this week.

As a prospect, Barney is an instinctive cornerback with natural athleticism. He’s technically sound, shows good footwork, can change directions on a dime, and shows wide receiver-like hands. He can make a play on the ball and can even bait the quarterback into making a throw he shouldn’t. At 6-foot-1 170-pounds, Barney shows above-average physicality for his age and the position he plays. He’s a hard-hitting tackler who knows how to properly wrap up and get the ball carrier to the ground. He’s excellent in coverage, but his ability to also help against the run is why so many teams have extended an offer.

As a sophomore last season, Barney made 32 tackles and four INTs for his Peachtree Ridge team. He’s also ranked as the No. 5 CB prospect and the No. 64 overall prospect in the country.

Another in-state sophomore who earned an offer from Georgia this week was wide receiver, Ryan Mosely. A big, physical wideout at 6-foot-3 200-pounds, Mosely is a sure-handed pass-catcher for the Carrollton Trojans who is seeing his recruitment pick up. This up-and-coming 2026 wideout took a visit to Georgia on Tuesday, and now he has an offer from the powerhouse in-state program. Mosely is coming off an excellent 2023 season where he caught 31 passes for 471 yards and seven touchdowns. He was an easy, reliable option for 5-star quarterback Julian Lewis, and has progressed more and more as a route-runner. He’s bigger than your average sophomore receiver and runs a crisp route for his age. He can pick up yards after the catch and has a nose for the endzone down the field. With Georgia extending an offer, look for more major programs to do the same.
