ATHENS - We’ve been reporting for several months now that the OL group in the 2025 class is as deep as it’s been in years.
The Peach State is loaded with promising offensive line prospects, but now, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have made the “top group” for two major out-of-state linemen as well.
One is 5-star David Sanders. An elite offensive tackle with an excellent 6-foot-6 265-pound frame, Sanders Jr. is an athletic, powerful tackle with length and great footwork in pass protection. One Georgia Bulldog assistant coach told Dawg Post in the summer that the staff feels Sanders is the top overall prospect in the country.
And they have a point. Right now the Charlotte, North Carolina native is ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the country and the No. 1 OT prospect.
Sanders has always been high on Georgia, and sources tell Dawg Post that the Dawgs are one of the favorites to land Sanders down the road. Sources also say Clemson appears to be Georgia’s biggest competition for the outstanding lineman.
The Dawgs made Sanders’ “Top 6” along with Clemson, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama.
Even with Stacy Searels signing six offensive linemen in the 2024 class, the Dawgs remain in a great position for some of the best in this 2025 class, and Sanders is the best.
With an official visit to Georgia likely coming this summer, Sanders is a top Bulldog target that Georgia fans need to know about.

Right now, the Arizona Wildcats have +1300 odds to win the NCAA tournament this season according to FanDuel.
Another major offensive tackle prospect to know is four-star Jaelyne Matthews. Another lean tackle with a promising 6-foot-5 275-pound frame, Matthews is a New Jersey native out of Toms River North who also included Georgia in his “Top 6” along with Tennessee, Rutgers, Maryland, Syracuse, and Miami.
Matthews has been high on Georgia’s board going back to last summer, and right now, Dawg Post feels that Georgia is the team to beat behind the scenes. He’s a naturally strong young man who will continue to add good weight and muscle over the next few years. He’s an offensive lineman who hasn’t scratched the surface of his potential, and he knows coach Searels is someone who can get the most out of him.
“Coach Searels and I have established a great bond. I feel like he could really get me ready for the next level of football and life.”
Matthews is ranked as the No. 150 overall prospect and the No. 12 OT prospect in the 2025 class.
