ATHENS - The off-season is in full swing, and with the new coaching staff locked in for the 2024 season, the Dawgs are looking for more prospects to add to their recruiting board.

One new defender to keep an eye on is three-star EDGE, Chinedu Onyeagoro.

The pass-rushing machine out of King Drew (CA) stands at 6-foot-4 215-pounds and is coming off an outstanding junior season where he made a state-leading 21 sacks. He also added 128 tackles, 30 TFLs, five forced fumbles, two INTs, and two blocked kicks.

Onyeagoro has earned several respectable Power Five offers over the last few weeks, but the long, athletic defender just recently reeled in his biggest offer from the mighty Georgia Bulldogs.

Of course, the promising West Coast linebacker made sure to tell Dawg Post what the Georgia offer meant to him.

Right now, the South Carolina Gamecocks have +850 odds to win the SEC regular season according to FanDuel.

“Earning an offer from Georgia was a dream come true,” Onyeagoro said.  “What they’ve been doing with that program the past few years has been crazy and the amount of guys they've put in the league stands out as well. “Georgia is one of those schools that if you get an offer from them, you have to be legit. So it was definitely a great feeling to be noticed by them. I know that it is a prestigious school a great place for me to go and get a great education while having a legitimate shot at making it to the NFL. They develop their linebackers and defensive linemen well. I’m excited to take some more visits up there and go on this official visit.”

As a prospect, it’s easy to see why the Georgia staff, that has a great eye for under-the-radar talent, extending an offer to the California native. He’s explosive off the ball and finds his way into the backfield with ease. If not blocked properly, he’s going to go hunt the quarterback, delivering a big hit on the way. He shows a great motor, has a promising frame, and flashes big-play ability on a consistent basis. He’s still raw, but he shows a high ceiling with a hard-working, competitive drive. He shows a lot of potential, and he’s an EDGE defender Georgia fans should know about in the 2025 class.

Right now, sources say there’s no official visit date set this second, but that Georgia will certainly get one of his official visits. He’s ranked as the No. 42 EDGE defender and the No. 38 overall prospect in California for the 2025 class.
