Great win for the Dawgs!

Dawgs win 77-62 in really a thoroughly dominating performance. Shot 86% from the line (19 of 22), outrebounded the Irish by 10, shot 50% for game to 42.6% for the Irish and held the Irish to just 26 pts in the 2nd half. Both Bridges and Moncrieffe were 100% from the field for the game! We had 14 TOs to Notre Dame's 15. The only thing we didn't do well is shoot from 3, but we have been working on a new offense that emphasizes taking the ball inside and giving space for our posts to operate rather than relying on 3s like we have done early in the season. Worked like a charm! 4 players in double figures, and JAR had a double double.

I also thought the crowd was very good for a Dawgs' hoops game on a neutral floor, as we normally don't have great crowds at games like this. Wasn't a huge crowd, but it was solid. Let's be honest - this is not one of Mike Brey's best teams, and they played a subpar game, but it's always nice to beat an ACC team. We played our best game of the season after playing a pretty darn good game in a loss to Tech. Things may be starting to click. These kids have been working really hard, and it's starting to pay off.

Agree 100%. I especially liked how we took a shot from
Them early the second half, shook it off, ran away with it.

And I'm going to believe that as wholly unnecessary as it was, maybe the Yech loss jolted everybody into focus and gear.

Yep, we took their best punch and didn't let it phase us. And they got it to within 2 in the 2nd half and we stepped on the gas.

Honestly, we played pretty well in the Tech game. We didn't defend well enough. My understanding is that the guys have been putting in a ton of hard work over the last couple of weeks. It shows.

Really good game. Very complete game outside of 3 point shooting as you mentioned.

White is still playing a deep bench, and everyone seems to be playing and contributing well. Does he start shortening that lineup as we enter sec play or keep rolling with it?

Every time I hear White speak about his bench, he talks about how hard it is to juggle PT for everybody. I think he would prefer to shorten his bench, but everyone he puts in is contributing something. There has been no clear separation. So, my guess is he will continue to play nearly everyone. That allows us to press more and defend harder. Foul trouble is not a big problem because we have depth, unless it is Bridges. It was good to see Lindsay and Holt back on the floor for ND. KyeRon is a very good all-around player, and Holt excels on defense. It is interesting that the team played so well Sunday with Oquendo struggling. He hasn't found his stride yet. Would love to see him break out, but not at the expense of team play. White is trying to hit on the right formula.

I don't think that I've ever seen Jar play with that much effort and enthusiasm. It was like the light bulb finally came on.

Agree. Very solid win. I hope we continue to shoot well. And we must improve our three point shooting. I love watching us play so hard on defense.

Love it. Throwing that full court trap in there is a huge weapon. This staff is good.

Agree that KyeRon has game and continues to get better. The guards are decent and improving, same with the bigs. Already appears this team will exceed my expectations. If Juice, with his quickness, hops and hustle could develop a decent jumper, even from 12 to 15 feet, we could start to look a little dangerous.

Agree with all. I think it also helped a that we finally got everyone back on the court health. We had been missing playersd to illness/injury over the past 3-4 weeks. With everyone healthy for the ND it gives us a better picture of what we could look like.
