This team is fun to watch when they fill court press. I know that was a staple of the Mike White La Tech teams. I'd like to see him play that more often because they were not fun to watch when not pressing. The depth is there to do it.

I thought McBride looked good in the time he got.

They have to keep from going on so many scoring droughts.

Agree, Red. Second half was great to watch, especially down the stretch.

Got plenty of work to do, particularly on offense, especially protecting the ball. But this game was a great challenge at a good time. Wake looks good, outstanding guards, good size underneath, very well coached. Our team has no quit, good athletes, very coachable, starting to show a little talent. Plenty to build on.

I'm not a uga basketball expert but here are some thoughts I posted on the porch. Very similar to what I posted above with a little extra:

There were numerous shots that went in and out. If only a couple to three of those fall, you got a shot to win. I know it's shoulda, coulda, woulda, but still.

I like that the team didn't quit. Once we started picking up full Court pressure, the game changed in our favor. White has the depth this year to do that for long periods of the game like he did at La Tech.

Not having Alexander-Moncrieffe was a tough loss too. Getting him back should help out with some scoring during half court sets.

Right now we aren't getting much out of Anselem. He provides height but not much offensively so far. I much prefer Bridges personally.

I though McBride played well last night in his action. He has a good looking shot. Etter played hard, as well.

I think the pieces are there to have a decent year and maybe make the NIT. White just needs to figure out what style he wants to play and roll with it.

We are not very good in half court offense because we just don't shoot it well. We might be better there when Ingram and Moncrieffe get back. I love to watch a pressing team. We need to do that to create offense. I, too, was happy to see us not quit and fight back. Wake is a well coached team.
