statement at UF. Man, he looks like he's still in HS. But he played for a hall of fame coach in HS in AZ, played at St. Mary's for Coach Bennett, and coached under Kyle Wright and Bruce Pearl. So, he's got a good background, and he did a good job at San Fran. Remains to be seen whether he can recruit well enough to succeed in the SEC.

Golden and San Francisco finished #22 in NetRankings and were 23-9. Sorry not following… who's losing season is getting overlooked?
He's talking about the season before last season - 11-14, 4-9 in conference. It's not that complicated.
Thanks for clarifying. Personally I don't think Golden's in the same league as White but we'll see how it turns out a few years down the road.

Who in the world doesn't like Mike White? I think it's the hire of a lifetime and he's the one to take this program to consistent successes we've never achieved. As I said in my post last night I believe he'll recruit well and coach better. I want 20+ years out of him here at UGA.

Do we really care what UF fans think? Do you think it is reasonable to not like a coach that got you into 4 straight NCAAs (with a 5th probable but out due to COVID)? Do you really think it is reasonable not to like a coach because their record dipped a bit his last 2 seasons after he lost his best player and the pre-season SEC POY to unforeseeable heart problems? Do you really think it's reasonable to expect your coach to be Billy Donovan, who cheated to get the players he did and who created unreasonable expectations in a fan base whose program has no other history of success? White is a proven winner in the conference, and he consistently gets to post-season, something we have never done. He's a serious upgrade over our 3 previous coaches and a hire that comes with little risk of failure. So, I don't give a damn what unrealistic UF fans think....Critdawg said:

I'm just giggling that Monk has nuanced that Billy Donovan was not a messiah. Florida fans don't want to acknowledge that Billy Donovan had a lot of under the table help from his UK buddy Brett Bearup. Hate to tell you Gatuh, neither are walking through the door again. Evah. Thanks for White. #FTMF.
