ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs continue to stay red hot on the recruiting trail.

After an incredible week where they added seven major commitments, the Dawgs landed another commitment today in four-star defensive lineman PJ Dean Jr.

The brother of former Georgia Bulldog center Jared Wilson, Dean Jr. is an athletic defensive lineman who chose the Bulldogs today over the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Dean is Georgia’s 15th commitment this month and Georgia’s 8th commitment over the last nine days.

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons have +210 odds to win 10 games or more during the 2025 season.

What will Dean bring to Athens?

A promising frame, muscle, quickness and versatility.

Dean is a dominant left tackle for his West Forsyth (GA) team and was originally recruited to play on the offensive line. However, his recruitment took a different turn this spring and now he’ll get a strong look on Tray Scott’s defensive line when he gets to Athens.

Dean brings a lean, muscular 6-foot-3 255-pound frame with the potential to continue adding more good weight and muscle over time. He’s a pancake machine at left tackle due to his mobility, quick feet, length, and natural strength, driving defenders backwards and into the ground with ease. Honestly, don’t be surprised if Stacy Searels is in Smart’s ear to give Dean some reps on offense down the road. He was one of the nation’s top offensive line prospects for a reason.

Still, his potential on defense is easy to see. He brings impressive athleticism, violent hands, and fires off the ball consistently. He didn’t play there all season long last year, so he didn’t exactly light up the stat sheet with just 13 tackles and three sacks, but he dominated during the camp circuit this spring and has proven to be one of the better defensive line prospects in the country.

All in all, this kid’s a football player. He looks the part physically, he’s tough, powerful, and brings above-average athleticism. He’s a prospect on the rise who has his best football way ahead of him as a defender. Under Tray Scott, arguably the best defensive line coach in college football, look for Dean’s play to get better and better once he gets to Athens.

Dean is ranked as the No. 6 DL prospect and the No. 78 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class.
