Bears started the game w/ a 9-0 run then got out to a 19-point in the first half behind strong offensive rebounding and three-point shooting (Baylor led Division I this season shooting 41.8% behind the arc). Gonzaga managed to cut the lead to 10 at halftime and 9 early in the second half, but found themselves down by 19 points multiple times in the second half.

Georgia native Davion Mitchell, a 2017 4* PG prospect, finished the game w/ 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists for Baylor. He was also an aggressive, disruptive defender.

Gonzaga entered the game 31-0 and a 4-points betting favorite, but fell short in the championship game once again. Since the tournament expanded in 1985, an underdog had never won the championship by more than 7 points. Today Baylor won by 16.

Btw, Baylor guard Adam Flagler is from Duluth, GA. After high school he attended Presbyterian College for a year b/4 transferring to Baylor and sitting out a year. This season he played in 28 games for the Bears (was their "sixth man") and avg. 22.8 mpg, 9.1 ppg, 2.3 rpg, and 1.4 apg. He made 45.4% of FGs, 43.4% 3-pt. FGs, and 87.2% FTs this season. Last night vs. Gonzaga he played 22 minutes, scored 13 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, dished out 2 assists, and notched 1 steal. Congrats to the Georgia native on winning a national championship.
