On his first impression of the Georgia staff...
“My 1st impression was excitement, getting to meet the whole coaching staff, coach Bobo, Coach Streeter, and Coach Smart. It was a special feeling when they came by and offered. Georgia's a big-time program with big-time development. I’ve watched Georgia playing in national championships and that was just a huge blessing.”
On recent visits to Athens...
“I’ve been up there for a couple visits and a camp. I was back again last month to check out a spring practice. It was definitely intense. There's a different type of atmosphere when you're watching the practice. They really get after it. I watched the quarterbacks closely and Ryan Puglisi can really spin it. Obviously Gunner can spend it too, but just looking at it, I think it's as smooth as butter and it flies out his hand. I’m definitely going to be going back there up this summer.”
DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!
According to FanDuel, the Duke Blue Devils have +700 odds to win the national championship next year. next season.
On his BYU offer...
“That was my first offer. I’ve got a cousin who plays for BYU. They’re definitely a favorite college of mine just because growing up in Utah, I grew up going to BYU games, working BYU games. They produce quarterbacks.”
On his strengths as a quarterback...
“I think the strength of my game is that I'm just able to put the ball everywhere on the field. I'm able to put our offense in the best possible position we can be with either protections, shifts, and changing plays. We might have to kill the play sometimes. I just feel like I'm able to just put us in the best possible position. I would say running the running ball is definitely strong part of my game. I'm around 230 and run a 4.68.”
On what he’s looking for in a college offense...
“I think I definitely lean towards more post-style offenses. I feel like I'm a quarterback who can make plays in the pocket but can also use my legs when needed to keep us in the positive.”
On what he’s looking for in a college staff...
“Some things I look for in a coaching staff is one that makes us feel like family. How they treat not just me, but everyone else who's with my family and my coaches. I think that's huge for me. Then I’m looking for the right culture. This kind of authentic culture you can feel. That special feeling. Also a coaching staff that believes in me and my talents.”
On upcoming visits...
“We haven't made the summer schedule yet but we're definitely going to make it out to South Carolina and Georgia. I'll make it out to Georgia Tech. We’ll make it out to Notre Dame for sure. We're going to have a meeting about that next week.”
