Former Hoop Dawgs PG and All-SEC player in 2017:

- Is playing professional basketball in Italy
- Offers his thoughts on why this March Madness tournament is crazy
- Says 8-10 SEC Men's Basketball teams are solid
- Says the SEC needs to emphasize basketball like the Big Ten and ACC in order to be the best conference in the country; need to get competitive balance where anyone can beat anyone
- Was asked why w/ all the talent in Georgia, UGA Men's Basketball can't be more successful and retain local talent (e.g., 2021 5* PF Jabari Smith signed w/ Auburn even though he's from Sandy Creek HS in Tyrone, GA)
-- Frazier responded that in order for UGA to elevate its basketball program it needs a coach familiar with Georgia, someone who understands how to get prospects from the state, is genuine, etc.
- He also said that Auburn HC Bruce Pearl comes across as genuine. Players want to play for someone that loves and respects them, treats them like their own kid. Pearl is able to walk into prospects homes and communicate well w/ families. He makes people feel like they're part of something bigger than themselves and him. So he can get any prospect he wants from the south.
- Says that if you don't get someone who is genuine, then you won't elevate as a program
- Coach needs to be genuine and get guys that are genuine so that they'll buy in and give everything to win
- Says a coach may not "fit", regardless if their administration likes the system they're running. If the coach doesn't "fit", then they won't get the players they need and the program will be mediocre. While a lot of people understand this, those that don't are still losing.
- Since the G-League is now an option, players don't have to go to school. In order to get those kind of players, they must want to play for your program
- If players think you're genuine, then once they get to college and figure out you're not, then you're not going to elevate
- Once teams figure that out and properly fund their program, then they can elevate
- Says Coach Fox pushed him to the edge and made him who he is. Mark was not just his coach, but his friend. They can communicate without even talking about basketball

If Bruce Pearl comes off genuine then someone is not very perceptive.

Very few people can judge someone's true character.

Pearl is a used car salesman and has proven it by getting on probation on multiple occasions.

Every time you say his name, I start checking for slime - then I have to take a shower.

I love ya JJ but there's more than "genuine" at play on the Plains. Just ask the FBI.

Wasn't Jonas Hayes making end roads in recruiting when he was at UGA?

So everyone he recruited and signed is not perceptive? Maybe opposing coaches are able to actually do a better job than uga coaches????? Just a thought.

Either they are not perceptive or do not care about his used car salesman gag and still buy the car or they enjoy the 'benefits'. I have no doubt that other coaches do a better recruiting job than ours but those two things are not mutually exclusive.

2018 5* PG Ashton Hagans from Newton HS in Covington, GA was committed to UGA from 21 December 2017 - 26 February 2018. Mark Fox and Jonas Hayes did a good job recruiting him. Perhaps Hagans decommitted due to the uncertainty re: the coaching staff returning that fall. As it were, Fox was fired 12 days later. Xavier then hired Hayes on 9 April 2018.
