So, we missed on Sanders, but Dean is a Dawg! Heck yeah!

I think me and AFD and maybe Citadel, Reddawg and Haney are the only ones on this website, but I'm elated with this class. It's definitely gonna be defense heavy. Dean is the #1 ILB in the country. This might be the best front seven haul I've ever seen for UGA.
Sanders would have been a good get, but here's hoping ol White can rehab and get back to his old self. This must mean that there is a good chance Holyfield is sticking around. With James Cook coming along, I'd say this isn't that great of a blow, unless you consider that Bama is getting him and the laws of physics, Karma, the CIA, KGB and the Knights Templar just seem to be against us when we play them. So, we need all of the edge we can get when it comes to going head to head with them on anything. Considering we got Clay Webb, however, I'd call this a wash.

Darin-

I am pretty excited about this class, when you talk about pure need, we got what we needed-and that is DL depth as we lose several this year, and more next year. We got a QB that we needed that can enroll early-and maybe another that will enroll in the summer-with Fields leaving, this is huge-and both QB's understand their role is to be backups and nothing more-so you don't have the issue of trying to get meaningful snaps etc. We continued to build more depth on the OL, we got a 5 star WR that not only has talent but a great attitude to go along with it. We got a kid that looks and plays a lot like Roquan, and we got two other stud LB's, and of course we got the top player in the nation in Nolan Smith who will contribute next year-oh and two of the top 5 JUCO players in the nation to plug on the D.

We missed on Sanders, and we likely miss on Haselwood (I am fine with this honestly-kid is talented but don't care for his attitude at all-from what I have seen at least), we might miss on Stevenson the DB-still not sure on him yet. BUT, I believe we are in good shape at all the positions we missed at honestly and hearing Holyfield is coming back, that ran away Sanders. I would rather have EH next year while we wait to see how Zamir recovers than have a true FR kid coming in-we know what we got with EH.

Bottom line, we barely lose any talent offensively or defensively, and we absolutely loaded up on defensive studs to plug in spots for depth. On offense, we might lose Nauta, Ridley, Godwin and Gaillard, but my gosh we return everyone else, and we added a 5 star in Clay Webb to an already stacked and young OL-and the QB we added last minute just happens to be teammates of a 5 star OG for class of 2020. Bama will claim the number one spot but just like last year when we claimed it, they will sign more than us so I believe our class this year and last year are both #1 caliber classes. We have already proven we can play with Bama, we keep adding talent to match them, we are going to take them down soon-and when that happens, I think the door will be open going forward.

Pretty good assessment Haney.....I'd like to know we got Plumlee coming board...heard he might sign today, but won't be able to enroll for a while. But regardless, the Mathis kid looks like a fine specimen. He's definitely got the look of a NFL guy, so I guess this shoot down my theory a while back that we were go after nothing Dual threat guys from here on out. JF and Plumlee are definitely the DT kinda QB. But as you said, looks like a super class. Maybe the best DL haul in recent memory...maybe, ever!

Good class. Will be even better, if we can pull in Stevenson and Haselwood.

Mathis might be listed as a Pro-style QB, but he's definitely a mobile looking QB.

I just watched some film on Nakobe Dean today and wow, that kid is going to be Roquan 2.0, in my opinion. He never makes a wasted step, flies to the ball, and finishes with authority! I'm really excited about having Smith on the edge next year. Hopefully, our pass rush is about to improve.

I really hope Plumlee sticks it out with us. That guy has some wheels and a pretty good arm from what I've seen. A 4.39 guy at QB?! That's ridiculous! I couldn't care less if we got Haselwood. His actions the last few weeks have turned me off. I think we'll be just fine without him. I believe Trey Sanders will be wishing he came to Athens about this time next year. Go Dawgs!
