Great story, thanks for sharing, I graduated from Grady as well but never got the chance to meet EJ. I have followed his career and what a wonderful human being. Great representative of UGA as well.

My daughter graduated from UGA in 2017 so I heard Ernie's commencement address live. It was maybe the only commencement that I have sat through in my life where I actually enjoyed the speech. I have always heard that Ernie is one of the nicest people in entertainment/sports and the piece on real sports about Ernie and Cheryl and their son Michael is truly an inspiration.

Agreed apm, I have watched the special done by I think ESPN about Ernie and his wife adopting Michael, and have adopted other children as well I believe. He is truly a great man, and proud that he is an alumni of my school for sure. You never hear anyone say a bad thing about EJ, and his Dad was a great broadcaster as well, always enjoyed him covering the Braves.
