So, this is 2 de-comits of some pretty high profile recruits in the last week. I can sorta see the thinking behind Haselwood, but this one caught me off guard. What's going with this kid reckon?

I have no idea what's going on. I'm not an insider or anything, but what I do know is that Kirby is one of the best recruiters in the business. He's proven so over the long haul, in addition to his short time as head coach here. Despite this being a big shock at the moment, I'm not worried about recruiting overall or the program as a whole. Not in the least. Maybe we've got a couple big targets who will announce soon, I don't know. Also there are two months until the early period and 4 months until Signing Day, and Kirby has proven to be a strong closer. Remember a couple guys decommitted last year only to sign with us in the end (was one of them Anderson?). It's not over with either Haselwood or Perry, imo. And even if it is, we will win with them, and we will win without them. If they want to play for Championships, jump back on board. If they want to take their chances somewhere else, best of luck to them

We're good.

From what I have heard, this decommit has been expected and there is likely one more to come, but the thinking is, they will be replaced by higher ranked players eventually in this class. That being said, I have heard Perry is a darn good player-but have also heard his "replacement" will be even higher ranked. Time will tell. JH, I still think he might end up back with us, as soon as Fields starts passing more/playing more, and when he finds out the QB's at Miami or where ever else are not on the level of what we have in Athens, I think he comes back. Could be wrong of course.
