Ok, after all the speculation about our QB's, I think you can see we have a couple talented kids that both could start for most teams in the country. This is why KS gets paid over 6 million to coach a college football team-to make decisions that he will have to make. Now, on one hand to me it is pretty obvious which QB should be starting and playing the bulk of the snaps. Jake Fromm knows the offense better, he is a great leader and has the ability to do a great job-and I think he will. Justin Fields, you can see the incredible talent he has both passing and running the ball BUT after one game, he already had an ankle injury.
I have been saying and I will say it again, to me the way to involve both in the game and actually keep them on edge and active-without rotating series, is borrow what our good friend Urban Liar did with Tebow/Leake. Let Fromm direct us until we hit the redzone and then Fields takes over from there. Sure, it might cut down on Fromm's TD pass numbers (although quite honestly, with our WR's, any pass is possible to go to the house), but it allows a dual threat QB to play our wild dog formation from the 20 to a score, instead of having a WR or RB play that spot. I personally think it would be a scary situation for the opposing team to try to stop us with Fields back there. If we have a big lead, let Justin have full drives to give him experience and then turn it over to Downing to hand it off late in the game.
