I wish someone would...sure has been dead around here. Just me and Reddawg and Citadel and Haney and PG occasionally and a few others. Would love to get some football talk rolling with the opener looming, just a couple of weeks out!

Since Dean Legge launched the new 'Dawg Post' website on 5 April 2018 I've posted 3,400 times (>24 posts per day). I've also made it a point to post every day since the launch so as to not let this forum die (as the previous 'Dawg Post' free board became a virtual ghost town after I stopped posting on it in January 2017). Fwiw, here are my posting tendencies the past 4.5 months:

'Dawg Post': 64.6% (2,196 posts)
'The Porch' ($): 19.4% (660 posts)
'Hoop Dawgs': 13.5% (459 posts)
'The Lady Dawgs': 2.3% (78 posts)
All others: 0.2% (7 posts)

Besides being the site's most prolific poster, I've also invited many Dawg fans I've known on UGA sports message boards since I started posting on them in April 1996. Here are some of them that have registered thus far:

All Dawg, bhdawg, bhs11, Catfish, Cohutta, Cujo, CWSD, Dawg44, Erskine, GrandBayDawg, JCarbo76, jt10mc, JudgeDawg, junkyarddawg, Klesko12, Lowiq, LuvsDawgs, neKKiDawg, opiedawg, pcbdawg, PGJ, PitDawg, RedDawg, Riverdawg, saltwaterdawg, Teddybulldawg, transitpastor, Underdog, ups-dawg, and zonadog.

While many lurk on the various forums, some only post on the pay site 'The Porch' (by far the site's most active board).

In summary, I've done my best reaching out to Dawg fans, populating the site w/ quality posts, and interacting when I've got something of value to add. While the 'Dawg Post' free forum isn't blowing up with interactive threads, I feel it's at least informative for UGA sports fans.

I hope more will post and thanks to you guys for spreading the word. I read some content on 24/7, which is a great site but I am not PAYING for information. Even if I had millions, as much as I love UGA football-really all UGA sports, I can wait to get the information honestly-the media is pretty quick to put important stuff out-with social media especially. I appreciate that Dean and folks on the other boards make a living covering the team-I used to cover the team YEARS ago for the Red & Black, that was a lot of fun-did it for one season. Those guys have a great job and they get paid to do it-but I am not paying for it.

I think a lot of folks refuse to participate in a "free" board because if they did, they would not want to pay for the extra info they might get-the rumors, behind the scenes type stuff. Most will only visit one board for the most part, and if they are paying for info, that is the place they will visit-so I totally get it. I just skim all the boards I can find, and gobble up any tiny crumb I can find without spending money.

Hopefully as the season begins, we can just talk football here. Let the other boards and this one in premium form talk about the recruiting rumors, visits etc, and we will talk about what we see in the games being played for all to see.

his site seemed to really die just after Dean offered the free memberships to the porch. Not sure when that was, but figure this site will ramp back up after the free months come to an end.
Once a DAWG, Always a DAWG. How Sweet it is!!!

IIRC, Scout's ownership also pushed a steeply discounted offer (not free, but along the lines of $1.95/month for new premium subscribers) before declaring Chapter 11 (bankruptcy) on 9 December 2016. Then on 1 February 2017 CBS Sports purchased Scout for $9.5M and began merging their sites on their platform in July 2017. While 247Sports provides some good content, it was littered with pop-up adds and the mobile site was extremely poor, thus turning off some longtime 'Dawg Post' posters. Btw, during the transition last summer CBS Sports forced me to change my username (which I had been using since April 1996) b/c someone else on 'The Junkyard' started using it in December 2012. Other subscribers gave up after they could no longer log into the new site's platform. Due to the trouble, they never returned and went elsewhere.
