Loran brings up an interesting point. After talking about David Pollack and Herschel being three-time consensus All-Americans, towards the end of the article, he mentions that with our current recruiting " there could be another 'Dawg to join the exclusive consensus three-time All-America Club."

So that begs the question - will we see another three-time consensus All-American? I don't know, but I would say that if we do, it would almost certainly have to be someone who was an AA in their True Freshman year, which is extremely rare. Nowadays, if someone made AA as a Soph & then again as a Jr, or even as a RFr & then as a So, they'd certainly go pro early. They wouldn't stay in college for the 3rd. Of course anything can happen, but I'd say it'd be very unlikely. What do y'all think?

RedDawg, you're probably right. Herschel played 3 seasons at UGA and earned First-team consensus All-American honors each year. As great a player as Pollack was, it took him 4 years to earn 3 First-team consensus All-American honors. With the quality depth Kirby is accumulating, it's going to be tough for a freshman to earn a starting job right away and "flash" their skills consistently to merit First-team consensus All-American honors. Perhaps someone at a position of need (e.g., 5* CB Tyson Campbell) would be able to make their mark, but they'll also have to avoid the injury bug. Thus, if I were a betting man, then I'd wager on "no".
