So this moron actually thinks Florida has a tougher schedule than Georgia? Please. The schedules are actually very similar. Obviously we play the exact same divisional opponents (including each other). From the West, we both play LSU (they have them at home, we play them in Baton Rouge); but we play Auburn while they play Mississippi St. So that one difference clearly makes our conference schedule more difficult. Outside of the conference, we both play 3 patsies and an ACC team. True, they have FSU while we play gtu, but FSU has a 1st year coach while gtu's staff is settled, so that game is not as difficult as it typically is.

So basically our schedule looks to be slightly more difficult than Florida's, but at the very least it'd be a push. So Chris Wright, maybe you should look into that little thing called research.

I think what is happening with the schedules is folks are already starting the narrative that our schedule is weak in hopes we lose a regular season game or that we lose the SECC and are sitting with one loss, and that will keep us out of playing for another title. This is not the first story I have heard about trying to paint our schedule as really weak, no doubt nationally they do NOT want what happened last year to happen again, where 2 of the 4 slots are SEC teams. IF we win the SECC again, no one can dispute it but if we go 12-0 and lose a tight game to say Bama, they want to be able to spin our schedule as being very weak to keep us out. Everyone knows UF is not playing for a national title, so no need to squash their schedule.

Eh, I'm not getting worked up about the schedule. SC is going to be a tough opponent this season and beating them on the road in game 2 is going to look good all season for us.
LSU will have played Miami, UF and Auburn before we go to Baton Rouge and play them on the road. If they run that table, they'll be in the top 5. Take them down in death valley and we'll be validated, no one will be questioning our schedule toughness then.

You could be correct but when folks are talking so much about your weak schedule before the season starts, there is a reason for it-they are trying to get that ingrained. As is normally the case, if some teams on our schedule have good seasons, it bolsters are schedule, while if some have bad years, it takes some away. ND certainly was a huge boost last year, they had name recognition of course coming into the game with us but had a losing record the year before-them going on the run they did, made our schedule look tough. Likewise with LSU this year, many are predicting a BAD year for them, normally that would be a great win-and it still might be should we get it, but if they lose 5-6 games, suddenly that win doesn't look as impressive as it would normally.

Haney, you are exactly right. BS articles like this serve absolutely no purpose other than to set the narrative.

Red,

The reason their schedule is tougher is because they have to play US and we have to play them. That is the simple difference.
