ATHENS - Georgia Bulldog asisstant James Coley is hoping to get some good news soon.
After landing a commitment from three-star Taurean Rawlins this spring, Coley has his eye on several others who are close to making their commitments.
This is what we’re hearing about Georgia’s wide receiver recruiting...
Earlier this week elite pass-catcher Eric McFarland III released his “final three” that included Georgia, Florida, and Texas A&M. For most of his recruitment sources have told Dawg Post that the Aggies could be tough to beat in the end for the IMG Academy (FL) star. The speedy, electric wideout is familier with Georgia and has a lot of interest in the Bulldog program, but right now Dawg Post is hearing that Texas A&M is the current leader with a commitment coming on June 28th. He’s currently ranked as the No. 6 WR and No. 26 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons have +320 odds to win the NFC South next season.
Another Bulldog who released some news this week is four-star Amare Patterson. The speedy wideout was originally planning to visit Florida this weekend but will now stay local and take an official visit to South Carolina.
Sources told Dawg Post on Tuesday that the Gators filled his spot at wide receiver and that this could come down to a Georgia/South Carolina battle with a commitment coming on June 20th. Patterson took his official visit to Georgia in mid-May and the Dawgs have been towards the top of his list throughout the recruiting process.
As a junior last season for Bluffton High in Ridgeland, South Carolina, Patterson caught 51 passes for 912 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s currently ranked as the No. 43 WR prospect and the No. 288 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
Another out-of-state receiver to keep a close eye on is four-star Jamir Dean. The playmaking receiver committed to Penn State in early May and the Bulldogs are pushing hard for a flip. However, the productive Tennessee native is fresh off his official visit to Penn State this past weekend. Still, sources tell Dawg Post that Dean has flown up Georgia’s wide receiver board since earning an offer on May 6th.
The Alcoa (TN) star has been to Georgia multiple times since earning his Georgia offer including a big official visit the weekend of May 31st. While he seems locked in with the Nittany Lions, sources continue to say Georgia continues to stay involved in his recruitment.
The 6-foot-1 175-pounder caught 53 passes last season for 1,141 yards and 16 touchdowns. He’s ranked as the No. 46 WR prospect in the country.
A wide receiver from North Carolina that may be trending Georgia’s way is three-star Namajay Thompson. The 5-foot-11 180-pounder at Crest (NC) is coming off a giant junior season where he caught 53 passes for 865 yards and 16 touchdowns. Thompson was in Athens for his official visit to Georgia in mid-May and sources say the Bulldogs have been the team trending ever since. He’s currently ranked as the No. 124 WR propspect in the country.
