ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldog staff has hit the road to find some of the best high school prospects across America.

New offers are being extended and one of them went to a four-star quarterback in Pennsylvania named James Armstrong.

The 6-foot-2 215-pounder at Hopewell High School in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania is a major dual-threat quarterback prospect who lit up the stat sheet last season as a sophomore.

Now the Bulldogs do still hold a commitment from five-star Jayden Wade‍, but as we’ve seen over the years, it’s important to keep some options open and have a backup plan. Or two.

As for Armstrong, he threw for 2,232 yards and 21 touchdowns with just three INTs. As effective as he was through the air, he was just as good on the ground, slicing his way through defenses week after week during the 2025 season. The big left-handed passer took off for 800 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, proving he’s one of the top overall quarterback prospects in the Northeast for the 2028 class.

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons have +200 odds to make the NFL playoffs next season.

On Monday, Armstrong spoke with Dawg Post about his new offer from the current SEC Champions.

“My reaction to earning the Georgia offer was just pure joy”, Armstrong told Dawg Post. “Everyone knows about UGA football so it was just exciting to see the interest they have in me. I know they use the QBs in more of a pro-style way so it’s good to have different opportunities because I still don’t know what type of offense I want to play in in the future. I love the way they use their QBs because they let them make plays when they need too which fits my style of play. I think the UGA football program is about greatness. Overall, everything about it is amazing.”

Armstrong is currently ranked as the No. 26 QB prospect in the country for his class, but that ranking will likely rise more and more over time.
