ATHENS - Back in January rumors were swirling about Georgia Bulldog star running back Nate Frazier.

Rumors of a a transfer.

It was the last thing Georgia fans wanted to hear. Frazier was coming off a strong 2025 season and was one of the best players on the Bulldog roster.

The thought of Frazier transferring was puzzling, but as we’ve seen in the NIL and transfer portal era, anything goes. In the end, Frazier decided to remain at Georgia and told reporters this week exactly what Bulldog fans hoping to hear.

“It was crazy”, Frazier said during his Tuesday press conference. “I just woke up one day and saw it all and I just turned off my phone. But that's what social media is. It's just rumors. So I turned off the phone and just got back to work. Even with other opportunities, I knew this is where I'm supposed to be. I love this place. I already know I don't belong nowhere else. At this point I've showed everybody I bleed, red and black.”

Now, Frazier is heading into his third season and taking on a leadership role. He’s a major part of the team not only on the practice field, but in the locker room.

“I want to really prove that to my teammates that I’m a great leader. I'm somebody that can be counted on. I want to lead by example. I know for some who have an opportunity to go to the National Football League it gets to a point where they're more so selfish and focused on themselves and their goals. But my year three, I want to show my teammates and the people around me that I want to be better together as a team. And I want to do the things I need to do to make them believe that as well. So, I'm showing people, by example, what needs to be done here, and how you carry yourself as a Georgia Bulldog. I'm showing that you can push through adversity in anything that you're going through, as long as you have a great mindset and got God by your side.”

Nate Frazier came back to Georgia for a reason. He made the cross-county decision to play in Athens to become a Bulldog legend and carry on the “Running Back University” tradition.

Now he’s far from Nick Chubb/Sony Michel level, but it’s clear Frazier wants to leave his mark in Athens. He’s got the potential to be one of the best backs in college football this season, and he’s doing everything he can to make that happen.

Nate Frazier bleeds red and black, and right now, he’s talking, and playing, like a damn good dog.
