ATHENS - If you still don’t know who Amare Patterson is, today is the day you’re going to learn.

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs hosted a giant group of elite visitors over the weekend and sources say the Dawgs are trending for several major targets.

One major target who got the red-carpet treatment was Patterson, a four-star wide receiver out of Bluffton High School in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

What appears to be a tight Georgia/Florida battle early on, it’s clear Smart and Coley have made Patterson feel like a top priority in this current 2027 class. Smart took his “Kirby-copter” to Patterson’s school to check on him last week and then got him in town for a multi-day visit to Athens this past weekend.

“What stands out most about Georgia is how real Coach Smart and the whole staff are”, Patterson told Dawg Post. “You can tell they’re super detailed and have high energy. They hold everyone to a high standard but they also really care about their players on and off the field. Everything they do has a purpose.”

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuelAny Defensive or Special Teams TD in the Super Bowl has +210 odds to hit this weekend between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

“UGA is special because of the culture they’ve built”, Patterson added. “The standard is the standard there. Winning, development and brotherhood. Being around the facilities, the players, and the staff, you can feel why they’re consistently at the top. It’s a place that prepares guys for the next level while still feeling like home.”

As a junior last season, Patterson caught 51 passes for 912 yards and 10 touchdowns. He brings above-average speed at 6-foot-0 180-pounds with the ability to leap and make a tough catch down the field. He’s terrific after the catch and brings a phtsical style of play when blocking in space. He shows dependable hands who can elude defenders after the catch.

James Coley signed three receivers in the 2026 class and is looking to load up in the current 2027 cycle. It’s still early, but it’s clear Smart and Coley are pushing hard for the playmaking South Carolina native.

Patterson is ranked as the No. 37 WR prospect and the No. 289 overall prospect in the 2027 class.
