ATHENS - It’s a crazy time of the year for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
They aren’t playing in tonight’s Fiesta Bowl, but they’re doing their best to improve the roster through the portal while keeping an eye on the recruiting trail.
Kirby and the Dawgs should be getting good news in the portal soon, and they also extended some big offers to several promising in-state prospects.
An impressive South Georgia defensive lineman who earned an offer from the Bulldogs this week is Thomas County Central (GA) standout, Prince Che. A big, powerful defensive tackle at 6-foot-4 285-pounds, Che is fresh off a terrific sophomore season where he made 45 tackles, 18.5 TFLs and four sacks. He’s a tremendous run defender who fires off the ball and shows a good motor when attacking the ball-carrier in the backfield. His stock is on the rise, and now he holds an offer from the Dawgs.
“The UGA offer was a blessing for sure. I know Georgia is a top program with a strong culture, great development, and a standard of winning. I attended the Austin Peay game earlier this season and my coach will make some plans for me to go visit Athens soon.”

According to FanDuel, Miami running back Mark Fletcher has -220 odds to score a touchdown in the Fiesta Bowl against Ole Miss.
Another impressive in-state defender to know about is South Paulding (GA) linebacker, Joakim Gouda. A big, versatile linebacker who can play both in the middle of the field and on the edge at 6-foot-3 225-pounds, Gouda can really run and shows terrific closing speed on the ball-carrier. He’s also one of the hardest hitters across the state in the 2027 class.
Last season Gouda made 100 total tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.
“When I got the offer it felt surreal . I know a good amount about the program but I will learn some more when I’m on campus for Jr Day.”
A speedy, physical defender from West Georgia at Carver-Columbus, Taylor was a tackling machine last fall as a sophomore and one of the state’s most productive defenders across the 2028 class. The quick, sure-tackling defender lit up the stat sheet all year long, living in the backfield with eye-opening 156 tackles, 36 TFLs and seven sacks. He also recorded an incredible 10 forced fumbles, recovered three more, and intercepted two passes in coverage. The 6-foot-1 220-pounder was extremely productive this fall and should fly up the rankings over the next several months.
