ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs add another major commitment in the 2026 class on Signing Day.
After securing signatures from most of their 2026 class, the Dawgs have landed a commitment from promising in-state safety Blake Stewart.
A playmaking defender from Woodward Academy (GA) in Atlanta, Stewart was a long-time Clemson commitment who opened up his recruitment on October 29. He was in Athens multiple times in November and moved Georgia further up his list week by week.
Now, Stewart is on the commit list, joining a crowded defensive back class in the current cycle.
“Georgia stood out because of the culture and how everyone there expects greatness but still treats you like family.”
As a prospect, it’s easy to see why the Bulldogs pushed hard for Stewart’s commitment. He’s a natural playmaker with the ball in his hands and made a giant impact all over the field for Woodward Academy this fall. He’s a sure-handed receiver on offense with impressive inctincts and physicality on defense.
Stewart brings a promising 6-foot-1 175-pound frame with above-average length, impressive closing speed, and the ability to make a play on the ball. He has a great feel for the game, covers a lot of ground in coverage, and knows how to deliver a sound, secure tackle on the ball-carrier.
On offense this season, Stewart hauled in 42 passes for 524 yards and 8 touchdowns. Defensively, the three-star prospect made 41 tackles, four TFLs and three INTs. He also forced one fumble, recovered another, and broke up one pass in coverage.
With Stewart on board the Bulldogs now have seven defensive backs commitments in the current 2026 class.
Other DB commitments include:
4-star CB Justice Fitzpatrick
4-star CB Caden Harris
4-star safety Jordan Smith
4-star safety Zechariah Fort
4-star safety Tyriq Green
4-star CB Chace Calicut
As for Stewart, he’s ranked as the No. 37 safety prospect and the No. 424 overall prospect in the 2026 class.
