ATHENS - As we reported earlier this week, Kirby Smart had several major recruits in town last weekend to watch his Georgia Bulldogs take down the Texas Longhorns 35-10.

Here are some notes and quotes from several top Georgia commitments and targets...

3-star DL commit Anthony Lonon‍ - Clarke Central (GA)

A local 2026 commitment on the defensive line, Lonon had his senior season cut short earlier this fall but continues to make his way to Athens to watch the ‘Dawgs.

“My favorite moment was the onside kick recovery. The stadium was electric and it was executed to perfection! I spent the most time with Khamari Brooks and Jae Lamar this past weekend!”

The 6-foot-2 260-pounder is ranked as the No. 29 DL and the No. 254 overall prospect in the 2026 class.

2027 EDGE KJ Green‍ - Stephenson (GA)

One of the top overall defenders across the South, Green is a long, athletic pass-rusher who made the short drive over to Athens for a big visit. The 6-foot-4 210-pounder made 100 tackles this season as a junior with 37 TFLs and an impressive 17 sacks.

He’s an in-state defender Georgia fans need to keep a close eye on over the next 12 months.

“My favorite part of the game was the onside kick after they scored”, Green told Dawg Post. “It was monumental to let them know this ass whooping ain’t over. We’re going for the kill.”

Green is currently ranked as the No. 6 EDGE defender and the No. 36 overall prospect in the country for his class.

2028 TE commit Asa Wall‍ - 2028

One of Georgia’s earliest commitments in the 2028 class, Wall may be young, but he’s a Bulldog legacy who can’t wait to suit up for the Red and Black down the road. The do-it-all sophomore out of John Milledge had a lot to say about his return visit to Athens.

“My favorite moment has to be when the 4th quarter starts and the whole atmosphere changes and gets even louder. I spent the most time with 2026 commitments Brayden Fogle and Kaiden Prothro.”

As a pass-catcher, Wall hauled in 46 passes this season for 936 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 63 times for 590 yards and 14 more touchdowns. Defensively, Wall has made 85 tackles, 11 TFLs and five sacks.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons are 1.5-point underdogs against the New Orleans Saints this upcoming weekend.

2028 DB Casey Barner‍ - McEachern (GA)

Another 2028 prospect, Barner may be young, but he’s an easy five-star candidate in his class who was outstanding this season for the McEachern Indians as a sophomore. Ranked as the No. 2 safety prospect and the No. 18 overall prospect in the country for his class, Barner is a major Bulldog target and had a lot to say about this past weekend’s visit.

“My favorite moment was honestly just being on the field before kickoff and feeling that whole place wake up. The energy hits you different in Athens. It’s loud, it’s intense, and everybody in that stadium is locked in. During the game it was the same thing. The way they compete, the way they respond to big moments, you can tell it’s a standard that’s been built over time.”

“Georgia is special because everything there is real. The culture, the people, the expectations. They don’t talk about winning, they live it. You can feel how connected the staff, the players, even the fans are. It’s a place where you know you’re going to be pushed, developed, and surrounded by elite competitors. That stood out to me in a big way.”

2028 RB Jacez Walton‍ - Central Carrollton (GA)

One of the more promising backs in Georgia for the 2028 class, Walton is a powerful 5-foot-11 205-pound back who consistently breaks tackles and gets big yards after first contact. The dynamic sophomore has run for 1,020 yards so far this season, averaging an impressive 9.1 yards per carry and rushing for 11 touchdowns.

“My favorite parts during the game was when Texas was at 3rd and long or 4th down. The Georgia fans were rowdy and the stadium was electric. The thing that makes Georgia such a special place and program in my eyes is how close it is to home and how it is always consistently a championship team.”

Walton is ranked as the No. 19 RB prospect and the No. 167 overall prospect in the 2028 class.
