ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have landed their second new commitment of the day.

First it was four-star Tyreek Jemison‍ who signed with the Bulldogs this morning, and now in-state linebacker Terrence Penick has flipped his commitment from Coastal Carolina to Georgia.

Coming off a dominant senior season for South Gwinnett where he made 94 tackles, Penick is a quick-reacting, hard-hitting defender at 6-foot-3 200-pounds who earned his offer from the Bulldogs on November 30th. Just a few days later, Penick has signed with the in-state giant.

As a prospect, Penick knows how to play fast and play with aggression. He’s a physical tackler in the run game who hits hard behind his pads while being talented enough to make plays in coverage. He’s one of the more disruptive and physical linebackers in Gwinnett County who will come to Athens with a chip on his shoulder.

Glenn Schumann and the Bulldogs now have three linebackers signed in the current 2026 class. They will sign two four-star linebackers in Nick Abrams II‍ and Elijah Littlejohn‍ to go along with Penick, a late-blooming prospect who earned his Georgia offer late in the process.

Penick is ranked as the No. 139 overall linebacker prospect in the 2026 class.
