BREAKING: UGA Football Gets Penultimate Ranking in 12-Team College Football Playoff

ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA Football were ranked No. 3 in the penultimate College Football Playoff Committee rankings of the year Tuesday night. 

The Bulldogs are ranked No. 3 in both the Coaches’ and AP Poll as well. Kirby Smart’s one-loss Bulldogs defeated Mississippi State, Charlotte, Texas and Georgia Tech in November.

The Bulldogs won its third rivarly game of the year Friday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta - taking out previously ranked Georgia Tech 16-9. The Bulldogs face off against the Alabama Crimson Tide in at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for another SEC Championship Game. Georgia has never defeated Alabama in Atlanta. UGA is considered a 2.5-point favorite to win that game. 

The Bulldogs have wins over No. 22 Georgia Tech, No. 13 Texas and No. 6 Ole Miss and a loss to No. 10 Alabama, meaning the Dawgs have played one of the most-difficult schedules in college football this season.
