ATHENS - It was a star-studded crowd inside Sanford Stadium on Saturday night to watch the Dawgs take down the Texas Longhorns.
Celebrities like Matthew McConaughey and Megan Moroney made their way to Athens along with several members of the Manning family, rapper Quavo, and multiple five-star quarterback prospects.
One of them was five-star commitment Jared Curtis who made it back to Athens this weekend with his family. Another was Georgia’s newest commitment, five-star Jayden Wade.
As it relates to Curtis, here’s what a source close to Jared had to say about the family’s weekend visit.
“We all had a blast. It was a great atmosphere. We are always treated like family! The offense is looking great and Coach Bobo is calling amazing plays!!”
Of course, the Bulldogs also got good news in the 2027 class as they added a commitment on Saturday from three-star running back Jakeyveon Parker. The powerful Macon County back is coming off an outstanding junior season for the Bulldogs where he ran for 1,211 yards during the regular season with 19 touchdowns. He hit the 100-yard mark in eight games and averaged an impressive 7.1 yards per rush. He ran for a touchdown in eight of his ten games and showed why he’s one of the state’s best in his class.
The 5-foot-10 205-pounder is currently ranked as the No. 47 RB prospect and the No. 547 overall prospect in the country for his class.
On the injury front, Dawg Post confirmed that four-star EDGE commit Khamari Brooks should be off crutches tomorrow and is not having any pain in his hip. He plans to enroll early and be with the team in December. The North Oconee (GA) standout made the short trip over to Athens and quickly recapped his visit.
“My favorite moment of the game is seeing Quintavius Johnson and Gabe Harris wreak havoc throughout the football game. All of the commits in the 2026 class have definitely started to spend more time around each other and getting to know each other.”
DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!
According to FanDuel, the New England Patriots have -230 odds to win the AFC East this season.
A 2026 target to keep a close eye on in the secondary is former Clemson safety commit, Blake Stewart. The Atlanta native out of Woodward Academy opened his recruitment up this fall and was in Athens this weekend for a big unofficial visit.
“My favorite moment was being on the field before kickoff and feeling the energy in the stadium—it hit different. Georgia stands out because of the culture and how everyone there expects greatness but still treats you like family.”
The 6-foot-1 175-pounder is ranked as the No. 35 safety prospect in the country for the 2026 class.
Some of Georgia’s 2026 commitments in town included four-star WR Brady Marchese, four-star DB Jordan Smith, three-star OL Graham Houston, four-star DL Valdin Sone, five-star TE Kaiden Prothro, four-star TE Brayden Fogle, three-star DL Anthony Lonon, four-star DL Preston Carey, among others.
Other 2026 targets in town included four-star LB Elijah Littlejohn and three-star OL Tyreek Jemison.
In the 2027 class, a top linebacker target who made it to town was four-star Jalaythan Mayfield. The 6-foot-1 215-pounder from Lincolnton (NC) is coming off a strong junior season where he made 103 tackles, 18 TFLs and 10 sacks. He’s ranked as the No. 10 LB prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
“My favorite moment from my visit has to be being able to meet Ed Reed and take a picture with him! What makes Georgia a special place for me is the amount of great defensive players they have produced in the league! Georgia is also one of the schools who believe in my abilities early on in my recruiting process and I will forever respect that.”
