ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs got some big news this weekend from one of the top quarterback prospects in the country.
Of course, the big prize is still 5-star Jared Curtis who plans to make his commitment between Georgia and Oregon on May 5th, but as we’ve been reporting all month, four-star Bowe Bentley is a major quarterback target that Georgia fans need to keep a close eye.
When Bentley earned an offer from the Bulldogs on February 26th, we reported that it was a big, big deal to the state-champion quarterback from Texas. An unofficial visit was made to Athens on March 20th, and now, Bentley has included Georgia in his “Top 3” along with Oklahoma and LSU.
Bentley has also scheduled an official visit to Georgia for the weekend of June 6th. However, if Curtis commits to Georgia in early May, those plans will likely change. But If Curtis commits to Dan Lanning and the Ducks, sources in Texas tell Dawg Post that the Bulldogs could be in a favorable position to land the No. 9 QB prospect in the country.

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons have -120 odds to win 8 games during the 2025 NFL regular season next fall.
Bentley also scheduled official visits to Oklahoma the weekend of June 13th and to LSU the weekend of June 20th. The Sooners have been a team linked with Bentley for months now but they already have four-star Jaden O'Neal on the commit list. O’Neal took a spring visit to Georgia earlier this month, so while he’s still committed to the Sooners, he’s another quarterback to keep an eye on. Sources say Bentley and O’Neal will not sign with the same program, so if the Sooners still with O’Neal, who recently moved to Oklahoma City for his senior season, the battle for Bentley could come down to Georgia and LSU. Again, a lot of this depends on what Jared Curtis plans to do in a little over a month from now.
The Bulldogs are also recruiting four-star Landon Duckworth out of Jackson (AL) who plans on being in Athens for an official visit the weekend of May 30th.
As for Bentley, the 6-foot-2 200-pounder led his Celina (TX) team to an undefeated 16-0 season last year as he threw for 3,330 yards and 47 touchdown passes while running for 933 yards and 16 more scores. His stock is on the rise, and as we’ve been reporting for weeks, it’s clear he’s very high on Georgia.
