ATHENS - After loading up on the defensive side of the ball in the 2025 class, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs need to go offense-heavy in this current 2026 cycle.
Of course that starts with landing an elite quarterback. They’re in the final two for top-ranked five-star gunslinger Jared Curtis but most sources feel Oregon sits in the best position to land him. However, there’s still a long way to go and Curtis will be back in Athens the weekend of March 13th before taking his official visit the weekend of June 13th.
While Curtis is still the big prize, the Georgia staff knows they need to have other options. This week they extended an offer to one of the best quarterbacks in Texas in Celina (TX) star, Bowe Bentley.
Ranked as the No.10 QB prospect and the No. 111 overall prospect in the country, Bentley is a 6-foot-2 200-pounder coming off a giant junior season where he led his team to an undefeated 16-0 season that ended in a state championship. Bentley led the way throwing for 3,330 yds and 47 touchdown passes while running for 933 yards and 16 more scores.

According to FanDuel, Georgia Bulldog linebacker Jalon Walker has +12000 odds to be the first player selected in the 2025 NFL Draft this spring.
Bentley shows a strong arm, but what really stands out is his ability to throw a beautiful touch pass deep down the field. He’s accurate, completing 70% of his passes, and shows impressive ball placement, making things a little easier for his receivers when pushing the ball vertically. He’s a leader, a winner, and the No. 3-ranked quarterback in Texas.
Here’s what TexAgs insider Jason Howell has to say about the Dallas-area gunslinger:
“Heavy ball player who is calm, cool and collected in crunch time. He’s not the most elite in terms of athletic gifts but he has a well-rounded skillset with a quick release, solid arm, can change speeds, and throws an accurate ball. He can fit it in some tight windows.”
The Oklahoma Sooners are pushing hard as they’re looking to take a second quarterback to go with four-star Jaden O’Neal, but sources say they’re not sure how receptive Bentley is to that idea.
With Georgia extending an offer, sources say things could get interesting if they can get him on campus for a spring visit. If that happens and an official visit is scheduled, look for Georgia to be in the mix the entire way.
