ATHENS - After another long week on the recruiting trail, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are hosting another impressive group of visitors in Athens this weekend.
Here’s who Dawg Post has confirmed will be in town this weekend...
Elite four-star running back and former Bulldog commitment Derrek Cooper told Dawg Post early this week that he’ll be back in Athens for a big Jr. Day visit on Saturday. Ranked as the No. 2 RB prospect in the country, Cooper is a South Florida athlete with a dynamic skill-set that made him a top target for assistant Josh Crawford in this recruiting cycle. Cooper is versatile weapon who can make plays as a pass-catcher and in the return game on special teams. The Florida native ran for 905 yards and 13 touchdowns while making 46 tackles, 10 TFLs and four sacks to go along with one INT, two forced fumbles and two blocked punts.
A promising in-state cornerback that the Bulldogs have an eye on is current South Carolina commitment, Peyton Dyer. The lengthy 6-foot-1 190-pounder out of Duluth (GA) earned an offer from Georgia back in September and got a visit from defensive backs coach Donte Williams in early January. As a junior last fall, Dyer made 70 total tackles, one INT, two forced fumbles, and 12 pass deflections. He’s ranked as the No. 23 CB prospect and the No. 355 overall prospect in the country in the 2026 class.
DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!
According to FanDuel, the Kansas City Chiefs are 1.5-point favorites over the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
Another dynamic athlete from Gwinnett County who will be in Athens this weekend is Tyriq Green. The do-it-all athlete earned his Georgia offer during his early days at Kell before making an impact last year for the mighty Buford Wolves. At running back last season, Green ran for 527 yards and 8 touchdowns. Defensively, the 5-foot-11 190-pounder made 28 tackles and picked off five passes in coverage. He’s ranked as the No. 9 ATH and the No. 165 overall prospect in the 2026 class and got a visit this week from Georgia defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson.
A new in-state wide receiver target who will be in town this weekend is Cambridge (GA) standout, Craig Dandridge Jr. The 6-foot-1 175-pounder from Alpharetta earned an offer from Georgia this week and told Dawg Post he’s looking forward to getting down to the Classic City and learning more about the program. Dandridge caught 58 passes last season as a junior for 1,443 yards and 14 touchdowns. Look for his stock, and his ranking, to rise in a big way over the next several months.
Staying in the metro-Atlanta area, Dawg Post confirmed that 2026 DL target Carter Luckie will be back in town this weekend. Luckie is no stranger to Athens as he’s a Bulldog legacy and already has his older brother Lawson Luckie making plays for the Bulldogs. As a junior last season for Norcross, the 6-foot-5 250-pounder made 51 tackles, 24 TFLs and two sacks. Ranked as a four-star prospect, Luckie is ranked as the No. 29 DL and the No. 270 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class.
An out-of-state offensive line target from South Carolina making his way to Athens on Saturday is three-star Malcolm Gaston. The big 6-foot-5 330-pounder got a visit at his school from Kirby Smart this week and the Bulldogs have a chance to take some momentum in his recruitment with a successful visit. He’s ranked as the No. 41 interior OL prospect and the No. 455 overall prospect in the 2026 class.
