Two-time national champion and former Georgia Bulldog star Brock Bowers is at it again.

The dominant rookie tight end has to do everything for the Las Vegas Raiders this year and it’s showing up on the stat sheet. Even with poor quarterback play, the two-time John Mackey Award winner is setting new records and is quickly becoming one of the very best players in the league.

During a 28-13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bowers set an NFL record for the most single-season receptions by a rookie tight end in NFL history. Detroit Lions TE Sam Laporta set the record last year with 86 catches, and over the weekend Bowers passed that mark with ease.

Bowers is making a strong case for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year as he’s torched NFL defenses on a weekly basis, catching 87 passes so far this season for 933 yards and four touchdowns.

According to FanDuel, Bowers and the Raiders are 4.5-point underdogs to the Atlanta Falcons next weekend.

Coming into this weekend, Bowers was 4th in the NFL in receiving yards and 1st overall in receptions.

At Georgia, leading the Bulldogs to two consecutive national championships, Bowers left a legacy that will last forever. One of the greatest Bulldogs of all time, Bowers hauled in 175 passes for 2,538 yards and 26 total touchdowns during his incredible Georgia career.

He’s the best tight end in college football history and he’s on his way to doing something similar in the NFL.
