Everything Georgia Football QB Gunner Stockton Said After UGA's 27-8 Win over the Gators
ATLANTA - Georgia football quarterback Gunner Stockton had a lot to say after Georgia’s big win over Florida.
Opening statement...
“I think anytime you get a win it's great. You know I thought we did some really good things, and definitely stuff we need to improve on.
But like I said, anytime you get a win you know, it's a great feeling.
On never losing in Atlanta...
“It's a good atmosphere. You always like to play in this venue and it brings the most out of you.”
We talked to you two weeks ago after that Auburn game. You said, "Hey, sun's gonna come up. Everything's gonna be fine." Lawson had added to that, that this might be the best thing that happens to you guys. What did you like about the way you guys responded the last couple weeks and m- in particular today?
On responding after the Auburn loss...
“It wasn't anything different. We still went to work and still had to show up and get better, and I think that's what our team kind of embodied is, "Hey, we got to get better. Don't matter. We got to get better next week, you know?
On his thoughts on the defense...
“Yeah, I thought theyplayed their butts off. That's a really good offense they played unreal.
On his running the football...
“Just trying to get a couple more yards for the offense and I wish I could've ran it a little bit better, but I definitely can get better at that.
On celebrating the win...
“Any win you celebrate. They're hard to come by and definitely got to cherish the hard work you put in for a whole year and everything. Definitely enjoy it for a day and then move on.
On the atmosphere and the fans...
“I thought it was really, really good. For the most part I think it was 50/50. I didn't really look around too much, but I thought it was a really good atmosphere.
On evaluating his performance...
“I mean, we won. Definitely stuff I need to improve on and get better at but I'm just excited we won.”
On the offense’s slow day...
If you don't have a good play, just trying to respond and keep going and just trying to keep that momentum is the biggest thing. It comes down to executing and doing what we do.”
On Chris Cole fumble return...
“It's unreal. I definitely get to see it every day at practice and kind of the freaky stuff that happens. He’s an unreal player and a great teammate, and he works just as hard during the week for that to pay off.
How did this atmosphere size up to where it normally is in Jacksonville for the Georgia-Florida rivalry? I thought it was, I thought it was, you know, it was, it was good. Um, it was still the 50/50 split for the most part, I think. Um, but you still have that kind of feel to it.
On Trinidad Chambliss...
“He's a really good guy, and have a lot of respect for him and the way he carries himself, and definitely the way he plays. He's a really good football player. Just looking forward to it and the week of prep we, we have for it. How do you- What is your best, like, you know, game, like passing wise, like numbers?
On Nate Frazier...
Nate was, he was running his butt off, just running hard for the team, and it was just cool to see him back out there and doing his thing.
On the downfield shots...
“There's a couple. There's one to Talyn. I wish I would've threw to him. But definitely just getting a little bit better at that and just looking at the tape and getting better and attack it this week.
