Critical Betting Line Emerges for No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida Gators

ATHENS - UGA Football coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have opened as heavy favorites to beat the Florida Gators in Jacksonville.

The Georgia Bulldogs are listed as 17.5-point favorites over Billy Napier’s Florida Gators on Saturday according to FanDuel. The line means the Bulldogs have about an 85% chance of winning the game. The Gators took the week off after a 48-20 win at Kentucky. The Dawgs were off this week as well after beating No. 1 Texas 30-15 last Saturday night in Austin.. 

Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are 19-1 straight up as 14 to 20-point favorites. UGA’s only loss in that time was against Vandy in 2016. Meanwhile, Georgia has not been favored eight years in a row vs. the Gators. Georgia is 6-1 in the previous seven games. The last time a team was favored that many times in a row was from 1993 until 2002 when the Gators were favored to win the game each season.

This is the fourth game in a row that Georgia is considered a double-digit favorite over their rivals (2024, -17.5 | 2023, -14 | 2022, -23 | 2021, -14). This is the first time in the series since Kirby Smart's years in Athens.
