ATHENS - November is here and the Georgia Bulldogs will kick off the final month of the season on the road against the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels.

A game Georgia football fans have had circled since January 1st. The Rebels got the best of the Dawgs in last year’s Sugar Bowl, but now Kirby Smart and his team are hoping to get revenge.

If the Dawgs want to leave Oxford with a win, they’ll have to contain star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. The experienced Rebel quarterback torched the Bulldog defense in New Orleans last season and Smart knows his defense will need to be at their very best to keep Chambliss in check.

“He had some wow plays against us last year, really, in both games, but especially the second,” Smart told reporters this week about Chambliss. “It's the down-in, down-out decision making that he's really elite at. The accuracy that he's elite at, the release, the decision. His pinpointing.”

Don’t Forget Your FanDuel Bets!!

According to FanDuel, the Georgia Bulldogs have +15000 odds of winning the national championship this spring.

“He has an anticipation of windows that's probably unmatched,” Smart added. “I don't know if that was God-given or the fact that he played a lot of football before he got to Ole Miss. He has played a lot of football and experience helps. You throw all that in, and you have a tremendous athlete. He goes forwards, backwards as fast as he goes sideways. He can back up and go for it. He's just a great athlete that is a great quarterback.”

The playmaking quarterback is creative, can make plays outside of the pocket, and brings plenty of arm talent. However, it does look like the Ole Miss offense has taken a step back from last year.

I wonder who they’re missing?

Still, Chambliss has the Rebel offense playing at a high level as they rank 4th in the league in scoring offense, 4th in total offense, and 2nd in passing offense. He’s thrown for 2,189 yards and 18 touchdowns so far this season, while also throwing a league-leading eight interceptions. On the ground the senior quarterback has rushed for just under 200 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Rebels have scored at least 27 points in every game this season. Chambliss has thrown for at least 225 yards in seven of his eight games this season. He’s also accounted for at least three touchdowns in six of his eight games. The 6-foot-0 205-pounder will need to play his best game of the season if the Rebels want to pull off the home upset over the No. 2 Bulldogs.
