ATHENS - After signing a massive haul of offensive linemen in the 2024 class, Stacy Searles and the Georgia Bulldogs are off to a strong start in the 2025 class.

After landing a commitment this past weekend from four-star Cortez Smith‍, the Dawgs have three current offensive line commitments, and all three are from the Peach State.

Smith, who will likely play center in Athens, joins four-stars Dontrell Glover‍ and Mason Short‍ on the commit list. Like Smith, those two guys who will also get their first look on the interior.

So where does Georgia go from here? Let’s take a look...

4-star OL Juan Gaston‍ - Westlake

Another massive in-state lineman from right outside of Atlanta, “Mt. Gaston” is a giant left tackle who can swallow up defenders with ease. At 6-foot-7 350-pounds, Gaston is extremely athletic for his size who also dominates on the hardwood for the Lions. He moves extremely well, shows good footwork, and can dunk a basketball with ease.

On the gridiron, Gaston is one of the biggest bullies you’ll find in the state. He’s dominant in the run game with enough athleticism to keep his quarterback clean in pass-protection. He’s one of the top uncommitted OL prospects across the South and will make his decision on August 2nd.

As we’ve reported throughout his recruitment, Georgia sits in a favorable position for the big tackle, but he’s far from a “slam dunk” in this class. Sources say he doesn’t understand why so many have already penciled him in Georgia’s class, even though Searles and the Dawgs have done a great job in his recruitment.

Sources say Tennessee has been a real threat to Georgia for some time, and he knows he has a better chance of playing earlier at a place like Tennessee or South Carolina. The Oregon Ducks are also involved, but sources say this will likely come down to Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Right now, Dawg Post continues to feel that Georgia is in the best position to land him at this time, but with a week and a half left, a lot can change.

Gaston is ranked as the No. 14 interior OL prospect and the No. 188 overall prospect in the country.

According to FanDuel, the Cincinnati Bengals have +1400 odds to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season.

4-star OL Damola Ajidahun‍

Yet another in-state lineman that Georgia fans need to keep an eye on, this promising tackle out of Duluth (GA) stands at 6-foot-6 290-pounds and earned an offer from the Dawgs during a visit on March 23rd. He’s only been playing football since the 8th grade, but he’s coming off a dominant junior season where he bullied defenders on a weekly basis. He weighed 240 in the summer of 2023, but has since gained 50+ pounds with a frame that will allow him to add even more muscle and mass over time.

He moves well for his size, has almost a 7-foot wingspan, and is still learning the game. He was reliable in the run game, but his length, mobility, and potential as a pass-protector is easy to see. He's a prospect on the rise, and his best football is still years ahead of him.

Georgia appears to be the team in the lead behind the scenes, but teams like Ole Miss, Georgia Tech and Duke are also involved.

He’s ranked as the No. 20 overall OT prospect and the No. 254 overall prospect in the country.

4-star OL Jaylen Gilchrist

A versatile 6-foot-4 305-pounder from Salem High School in Virginia, Gilchrest has always had good things to say about Georgia and even has family in the Peach State who have been Georgia fans for years. He took an official visit to Georgia in mid-June and came away impressed.

“Out of everything I experienced and learned at UGA, I’d have to say the overall transparency of the staff and community was top-notch”, Gilchrist said. “I felt like myself without having to fake anything. Their pitch to me was that if I like to work and get developed, then UGA is the place to be. They’re the best at what they do and the numbers prove that.”

Gilchrist is a dominant guard prospect with quick feet and a nasty style of play. He plays with good leverage, attacking defenders with authority, driving them backwards with ease. His length allows him to get hands on his opponents early on, making it tough for defenders to shed his blocks.

Right now, sources say South Carolina is in a favorable position to Gilchrest at this time.

5-star OT David Sanders‍

Early in his recruitment, Dawg Post felt Georgia had a lead for this elite offensive tackle out of North Carolina. Now? Not so much. Sources say this turned into a Tennessee/Ohio State battle more and more this summer with Georgia on the outside looking in.

4-star OL Nick Brooks‍

Another promising lineman with a massive frame at 6-foot-7 360-pounds, Brooks is an Iowa native who came down to Georgia as a sophomore to play at St. Francis in Alpharetta, but now plays back in Iowa. A former Iowa commitment, Brooks has always had an interest in Georgia, and if he has the green light to commit at some point, he becomes a big, promising prospect to know who could turn into a steal if he can drop bad weight and perfect his craft on the line.
